Missed you

Hi Friends,

Hope your week is going well. We actually had snow today. It was really coming down. It stuck to the ground for awhile but was melted by the afternoon, thankfully.  We have a bit of winter fatigue here.

Onto today’s card. I made this a long time ago, and I’m pretty sure I’ve shared it on the blog. It’s a little different from my usual bright cards.

DSC_0147

I made my own patterned paper using Lawn Fawn’s  Petite Florals, and then the main image is from Just My Type.  I just love the rose embellishments. They are such a nice touch, I think.

Thanks for stopping by.

Who Loves You?

Hi Friends,

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Spring has taken a retreat in Indiana. Rumor has it that we could get some snow.  So the calendar says it is spring but the weather is not up to speed yet.  That’s the way it goes in Indiana.

Onto today’s card. This card is using the Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest and Jessie’s ABC’s.

Bundle of Joy

Hi Friends

Just a quick post today to share a baby shower card I made awhile ago.  I made it before I could share it because it was prior to the Lawn Fawn release of the stamps. (It is the Bundle of Joy stamp set which is way too adorable).  I did remember to snap some piccies of it so that I may show it to you now.

DSC_0075

I am pleased to say that since this card was given, a healthy baby boy has blessed my friend’s family.

Thanks for popping in.

Happy Birthday

Hi Friends

I wanted to share a card that I made using the Lawn Fawn set that is being given to those who spend $50 or more in the Lawn Fawn Store. The set is commemorating their one year anniversary. I cannot believe it’s been a year. It’s such a blast to be part of this wonderful company.

DSC_0217

I embossed the cake with clear embossing powder, cut it out, and then I colored the candles white with a Signo white pen and then colored over that with a yellow Copic. I added some liquid applique to create the icing effect and then spritzed the entire thing with Tsukineko sheer shimmer spray.

The patterned paper is from Imaginesce. I used some Recollections Flowers to add a little extra to the card.

Thanks for stopping in today. Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping challenges. Woohoo lots of fun stuff with great prizes

Happy Birthday Dem

Hi!

So if you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you’ve heard me talk of my dear friend Demaree (aka Dem) who lives outside Chicago. She and I have been friends for many years, and I consider her family as a second family to me.

Well, my sweet friend’s birthday is today, and I wanted to share the card I made her and the set of cards I made her as part of her gift.

Here’s her card…

DSC_0226

I used Skipping Stones stamp set which I actually bought just for her birthday because she loves purses. I mean seriously, loves purses. I did something that I saw on their website. I stamped one of the purses, cut it out, covered it in red line tape and then wrapped it with DMC floss. I added the rose to it just to kick it up a little bit. The fabulous patterned paper is some My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose (Mabel). Love these colors so much that I made the gift set with them as well. Here they are:

Hopefully, she’ll like the set. Since she loves purses, I think she’s going to enjoy these.

Thanks for stopping in.

Let’s Celebrate

Hi There

Just a fun and bright card to share with you today. You may need to put on your sunglasses (wink).

And it fits the bill for the current Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge, so double fun! Check out the fun inspiration piece. I really miss doing that challenge. Kim is such a sweetheart and has such fun color pallettes. If you've not checked it out before, I would encourage you to do so. They're a lot of fun.

DSC_0201

I just adore the birds from Lawn Fawn’s Fly Free set, and I am really fond of the mushrooms from Critters in the Forest. And, I love my Fiskars cloud punches.

Thanks for popping in today friends

Lawnscaping challenge 6

3_21ColorSplash

Hi Friends

I hope you all checked out the joint challenge that Lawnscaping and Wee Memories are doing together! If not, please check here,

Today, we’re back to our normal Lawnscaping schedule and latest challenge. This challenge is color splash, to use all neutrals with just a splash of color.

Here’s my take on the fun challenge.

DSC_0250

I have to say that I’ve been in a bit of a clean and simple mood lately, so this challenge was perfect for where my mojo is landing lately.  I used the three flowers from Lawn Fawn’s Sew Lovely to create the border, and the sentiment is from Hello Friend.  The red dots are made with liquid pearls (which I had nearly forgotten I had.) The red flower button was in a bag of buttons by Buttons Galore and was too perfect not to include on this card.

SimonSaysStampBlinkie1We have a new sponsor to add to our challenge. The ever so fabulous Simon Says Stamp. Now not to worry they offer Lawn Fawn products, so you will be able to use the super generous $25 gift card to purchase whatever you want from them   BadgesSimonSaysPrize

Be sure to go to the Lawnscaping blog to check out the other designers’ take on the challenge. And get creating. We cannot wait to see what you come up with!

Have a blessed day

Now, if this wasn’t exciting enough…. There are two amazing guest designers joining in on the fun. Mrs. Lawn Fawn herself, Kelly Marie and the amazingly talented Kathy

Wow, that’s a lot of information, but so much fun. Here’s my cute and cuddly card for the challenge…

DSC_0058-2

Hi Friends

So in preparation for Lawn Fawn inspiration week, I made several cards.  Some weren’t used for the official posts. This means that I have extra stuff to share with you.

Say Cheese/Say Cheese Too part 2

Hi Friends

I hope your week is going well.  The Lawn Fawn inspiration week is in full swing, and I hope you’re enjoying it.

We’re doing another preview of the Say Cheese and Say Cheese Too sets today.  Since there are so many options with these stamps, I think it’s great we get to do a two part preview with these sets.

Now it may seem odd, but I think the polaroid picture frame would make for great Christmas cards. And that is what I went with for my samples.

DSC_0200

I cringe at the photo of me (am I the only one who does this?)  But is my hubby adorable or what?

Now the next card has a much cuter photo in it, my beloved George…

georgesaycheese

I mean really, is that a cute dog or what?  He’s turning 18 in April, can you believe it?  (this photo was taken at Christmas 2008, and I think it’s adorable. He always looks like he’s smiling).

So, while it may be WAY early to think about Christmas, I think that this stamp set would be great for making those personal photo Christmas cards.  (And really, is it ever too early to start working on our Christmas cards to prevent the rush during the holiday season?) Be sure to head over to the Lawn Fawn blog for your chance to win some freebies and to see the other designers’ projects.

Lawn Fawn Plus One

Hi Friends!

How are you liking the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week so far? I realize that a lot of you have already gotten your hands on these stamps, but hopefully you’re still having fun!

Today, we get to showcase the super cute “Plus One” set. This set is geared  all around babies.  It’s adorable!  I’ve made several cards with it already. (I actually used one for a baby shower back in January!)  The cards I thought I’d share with you are pretty CAS which would be good for invites, thank yous, etc.

I went with both a boy and girl color themed cards.

Here they are together…

DSC_0236

And here’s a closer view of a card for a baby girl…

DSC_0239

And a baby boy… DSC_0243

There are mini stars and hearts in the set which I used to create just a little background. I really like this effect of just a partial background.  Then I just thought the rattle was so cute that I wanted to incorporate it onto the card, and putting it on the twine seemed to work.

You can see the images are great for coloring, paper-piecing and on their own.  Be sure to go check out the Lawn Fawn Blog to link up with the rest of the design team. I know you will be blown away.

Also, I wanted to thank you all for the well wishes since I’ve mentioned being sick on the blog. It’s so sweet of you, and I sincerely appreciate it.  I wish I could report that I was back to myself, but alas, the bug lingers.  I felt like I was in a fog all day.  I’ve heard that this is a brutal virus that hangs on for awhile, so I’m just going to have to endure.  Again, thank you for your kind wishes.

Remember, I’ll be giving away some Lawn Fawn Catalogs to three commenters this week!

Lawn Fawn Critters in the Forest

Hi Friends

Welcome to the next day of the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week.  Today’s projects are featuring Critters in the Forest.

I am absolutely enamored with this set. It’s so much fun with so many cute forest critters.  There are endless possibilities.

Here’s my card:

DSC_0221

I used some of the smaller images in the set. There are many larger critters that you can create super fun foresty scenes.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other design team’s creations and for your chance to win some fun new stuff.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Hi Friends!

I’m sure you’ve all been seeing some of the newest Lawn Fawn sets that are out there.  I’m so excited that Lawn Fawn had such a great show at CHA that they are being carried by so many stores now.

Two of the sets I’m showing today are Say Cheese and Say Cheese too.  I’ve been looking around the blogosphere, Facebook, and Twitter and there is SO much excitement about these sets.  For scrapbookers, these are going to be a must have.  Don’t even think twice about it, just order.  For those of us who are primarily cardmakers, you’re going to love them as well. There’s something for everyone I tell ya.

I am showing the adorable old school Polaroid camera in my card.  I figured that there will be many examples of how to use the polaroid picture frame, so I wanted to try and show something different.

DSC_0153

Let me tell you that this is another fun image to paper piece.  Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other designers’ work and for a chance at a prize.

In lieu of giving away a stamp set each month like I used to do, those are now being given away at the Lawnscaping challenge blog which you should really go check out. There are some really fun challenges to join in.

I can’t not give anything away, so I happened to have gotten my hands on some Lawn Fawn Catalogs from CHA, and I’d love to give some away this week.  I will draw 3 winners from the comments this week to give a catalog to.  You can comment each day of inspiration week to increase your chances.  The catalogs are really adorable, and inspirational, I think you’ll enjoy having one.

Thanks for stopping by.

Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge

HI Friends

This is a rare Friday evening post.  I wanted to participate in Courtney’s sketch challenge, and I’m getting it in under the wire.

Here was the sketch:

PCD_Sketch_3_2_11

I love this sketch, there is so much room for creativity and interpretation with it.  I tend to follow things too exact.  For this challenge, I actually have two cards for consideration.

courtsketch

This first card uses Practicing Creativity’s Look up Additions. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Hat’s Off.

courtsketch3

The second card uses Taylored Expressions Easter Joy.  I just love this set. It’s cute and exhorts Christ.  A winning combination in my book!

Have a great weekend. I’m still trying to shake the flu, so there will be a lot of R&R going on here in our house.

Happy Anniversary

HI Friends

Here’s a bright anniversary card ready for the next anniversary that comes along.  My hubby and I will be celebrating ours in April, but I will make one special for him.

DSC_0001

This card surely displays my love for bright colors.

I’m signing off with a short post. Turns out that I have the flu, not a cold or allergies.  I’m battling a fever, aches, headache, you know all the fun stuff.

Thanks for stopping by friends

Friends Forever

Hi Friends,

Another Friends card to share with you today.  It’s a pretty clean and simple card for me, but I like it. I just love the idea of having the bird pull a banner.

DSC_0107

Short post today, I’m having a bit of a rough week.  For my praying friends, I’d be grateful for your prayers.  There’s nothing serious going on, I’m just struggling this week.

If Friends were Flowers….

Hi

I just love this sentiment.  I’m very blessed that I can say that I have so many wonderful friends deserving of this sentiment.  I could make a beautiful bouquet with the friends I have.

DSC_0102

It may be obvious and not need to be stated but this is another reject (I think that after this card, I’ll quit pointing it out).  I still like it, and like stated above, I have plenty of people to whom I could send it.

(and many of you who stop in at my blog are amongst those, so thank you for being my friends. I’m so grateful for the people I’ve met through blogging).

Reject time

Hi Friends,

I thought I’d jump on the bandwagon and share some of my PC rejects this week on the blog.

I won’t tell you that it doesn’t discourage me, it does. Sometimes I get more discouraged than others.  Whenever it gets to me too much, I go on a submitting hiatus.  I don’t mean to whine here, I am incredibly fortunate.  But if I start getting stressed and crafting isn’t fun, then that’s when adjustments are needed.

ANYWAY, enough of that, onto my reject for the day.

DSC_0093

The upside is that I will easily be able to send this card to someone.  Nowadays, when I do submit to pub calls I try to make it where I will be able to use the card if it’s not picked up.

Have you all checked out the Lawnscaping challenge? It’s a super fun one, to use a stamp in an unconventional way. There are so many options!  I hope you decide to play along.

Thanks for stopping by!

Lawnscaping

Hi Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  They certainly go by quickly, don’t they?

Today, we have a new Lawnscaping challenge for you. And this one is definitely going to bring out your imaginative side!  It’s to use a set in an unconventional way!  Super fun, huh!

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0091

Heheheehe, I thought this was funny.  Hopefully, I won’t have any cause to give this to anyone.  (I’m guessing the most likely recipient would be Carlin since he has to live with me, and I really hope to not be crabby with him).

I used Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Sea, and Harold’s ABCs to come up with this card.

Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping blog to see the other designers’ work.  This is an imaginative group of designers!

I hope you have fun with this challenge. I have a bunch of other ideas floating around in my head for this challenge, so I hope to have some time to put them to paper.

Thanks for stopping by.

Forever Friends

Hi Friends,

Thought I’d share another reject today!  This style of card is a little out of my comfort zone. It’s essentially a one layer card which is a toughy for me.

I do like coloring on Kraft paper with the opaque markers, I think it’s such a cool effect.
