My Favorite Pursen

Hi Friends,

How are you?  We had some bad storms come through Indiana Sunday night. We didn’t get much sleep, so I’m dragging tonight.

Consequently, I think I’ll just get right to my card…

Thank You

Hi Friends,

Happy Thursday!  We’ve got the weekend in our sights now.  I don’t know about you, but I’m ready

Today’s card is one a friend asked me to make. She wanted me to make a Bold thank you card. I came up with this, but I think she had something more obnoxious in mind. I may have to go back to the drawing board.

I think she wanted more bling and glitter, so anyway, I may try something else. If so, I’m sure I can get some use out of this. You can never have too many thank you cards on hand.

Thanks for stopping in

Happy Birthday Bannerific

Hi There

Happy Wednesday!  We’ve made it to the middle of the week. Yay!

Because I’m working on some things I cannot share yet, I’ve got another card that I made awhile back for you today.  It’s another from the gift set I mentioned yesterday.  Since it was a set, I like them all to coordinate, so I used the same patterned paper.

Thanks for popping in. Have a blessed day

Thinking of You

Hi Friends

I hope you are all excited about the newest Lawnscaping challenge that is going. I know that there are so many creative options with Lawn Fawn stamps and paper-piecing. I cannot wait to see what you come up with. We’ve been dazzled so far, and it’s so exciting to see the amazing ideas you all create.

Today’s card is one I made awhile back. I made it for a gift pack of cards that I gave to a friend. I just haven’t gotten around to posting it. Of course, it uses Lawn Fawn stamps and Cosmo Cricket paper… Shocking, not so much.

DSC_0109

Come to think of it, this card would qualify for the current Lawnscaping challenge! Hey! Who knew.

Anyway, have a fabulous day, so glad you stopped in.

Hi Friends,

Happy Monday and Happy Presidents’ Day. For those of you who don’t have to work today, I hope you are able to do some fun crafting.

Can you believe that it’s time for another Lawnscaping Challenge?  This challenge is another fun one and favorite technique… paper piecing!

Here’s what I made:

My Nephew’s card

Hi Friends,

I had to share a card my nephew made. My mom’s birthday was last week (the 11th). My nephew, Garrett, and I got together and made cards. We both made one for her (I cannot share mine yet). However, I can share the one he made. He’s 9 and thinks it is pretty cool that his card is going to be on my blog.

I think he did a good job, take a look:

Here’s the outside of the card..

garrettscard

He used Lawn Fawn’s Bannerific and Sophie’s Sentiments.(I’d say he’s pretty good at fussy cutting if you ask me… I may be biased, but I don’t really think so)

And here’s the inside:

garrettscard2

You can see he used Lawn Fawn’s Critter in the burbs and Hat’s Off. He turned the cat into a tiger because my mom loves tigers.  I mean seriously, how creative is he???  (Look at the claws he added, so cute!)

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my nephew’s creation.

Masculine Thank you

Hi

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s day.

I hadn’t intended on making this a masculine week. And it’s not likely to, but we’re at least having two days in a row of masculine cards.

This card was made for a guy in our church who does a lot for our music ministry. He’s super talented and his contributions are such a blessing. Carlin and I just wanted to let him know that we appreciate him.

DSC_0092

I thought the Lawn Fawn teeny tiny backdrops (music notes) was too perfect considering who the card was going to.

I also used some Basic Grey paper (Max and Whiskers) that seemed more masculine to me. Of course distressing was involved. Cards for men and distressing just seem to fit in my mind.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and Blessings

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hi Friends

Happy Valentine’s day to you! I hope you enjoy a blessed day. Any special plans? We’re planning a quiet dinner at home. We just like quiet evenings together, and it’s a week night.

Before, I go any further, I have to say that I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. He’s my best friend, and he’s so good to me. He’s incredibly patient, loving, kind, and has a great sense of humor. More than anything, he loves the Lord Jesus, and he is a great spiritual leader to me. The Lord has truly blessed me beyond what I ever dared to hope, and I am truly grateful.

Okay, if you’ve survived my sap fest… Today, I’m sharing the card I made for my sweetie (Carlin, if you are reading, stop now, don’t read anymore until you open your card).

So, we all know making cards for boys can be a challenge. I find that wood-grain always adds a touch of masculinity to a card. And, of course, no bows or bling. I did a lot of distressing on this card too just to add some dimension to the embossed wood grain (I used the Tim Holtz embossing folders).

Have a very blessed day

Stamps: Lawn Fawn (Sophie’s sentiments, and Bannerific)

Ink: Memento, Ranger distress inks (Antique Linen, Tea Dye)

Happy Friday…Shining with Lunar Lights

Hi Friends,

Happy Friday, I’m sure we’re all ready for the weekend. Do you have any plans?

This is going to be a short post, so I’ll get right to it. I made several cards for the Lawn Fawn Lunar Lights reveal and thought I’d share another card today with you.

DSC_0101

This is one of the cards that I broke out my Copics to color. I just love those markers so much.  I used some of the My Mind’s Eye patterned paper (Fine and Dandy).

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

Valentine

Hi Friends,

So have you placed your order yet for the new Lawn Fawn set, Lunar Lights?  From what I read on the Lawn Fawn blog, I’m guessing those are going to sell out fast! Let me know when you get yours and create with it, I would love to see what you come up with. There are so many possibilities.

Today, I resisted the urge to post something else using Lunar Lights, instead, I’ve decided to go with another Valentine.  Since Valentine’s day is Monday, I’m running out of time to post these.

vday2

It’s pretty similar to others I’ve posted recently, but geez aren’t those pears cute? Who could tire of this set of stamps? It’s just so much fun.

Thanks for stopping by, have a blessed day

Lawn Fawn Lunar Lights day 2

Hi Friends,

I’m so excited to get to show you another preview of Lawn Fawn’s Lunar Lights today.

lunarlights2

This card is a tad different look for me. (Yes, there’s ribbon, a bow, button and bling, I know). BUT, the images are just stamped, not colored, not paper-pieced. I wanted to show that you don’t have to be a coloring type of person to enjoy these stamps. You can stamp them and go. Makes for a quick and cute card!

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog to see the designers’ creations.  There are so many options with this set of stamps, you are just going to love them.

Be sure to check out the designers’ blogs to see the details on their creations.

Lawn Fawn Lunar Lights

Hi Friends,

It’s time that time again, Lawn Fawn preview time. It’s seemed forever since we’ve done this, and I know it’s not been that long. The hardest thing has been that I’ve had the stamps for awhile, and not been able to post with them!

Without further delay, here is a creation using the next Lawn Fawn stamp set to be released, Lunar Lights.

lunarlights3

The stamp set has several cute lantern images and two sentiments. It is so versatile. I’ve made cards for birthdays, congratulations, and encouragement with it already. The images are perfect for coloring, stamping in color alone, and for paper-piecing (as seen here). Just so many options, I know I'm going to be reaching for this set a lot (heck I already have been).

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog and design team for more inspiration (and prizes).

Wee Memories Sketch Challenge

Hi There,

How are you? I’m getting cabin fever. I stayed home from work again today. This time was to watch my nephew. My brother needed some help, so I volunteered. It’s always fun to spend time with my nephew, and he even spent some time crating with me. (He likes art stuff, so card-making is right up his alley, well sometimes, anyway).

I made a card for this week’s Wee Memories challenge. It was a sketch challenge, and I love those. Here’s what the sketch looked like:

getsketchy

And here is my take on the sketch:

DSC_0050

I’ve been in Valentine making mode, so this sketch helped me out on that. (I love sending cards to friends for Valentine’s day, and while I don’t send as many, I do send some).

I used the Basic Grey Olivia paper, and Lawn Fawn’s My Silly Valentine.  I think they go so well together.

Thanks for stopping by.

2 Challenge Card

Hi Friends

How are you surviving this winter storm? I know not everyone is affected by this, but a lot of us are. Our yard looks like we have about 3 inches of snow, but it’s all ice. Our poor dogs slip and slide when they go out.

Because we’ve been cooped up, I’ve had more time to do some card-making. This has been such a blessing. There was a time that I didn’t get too much time in the craft room, and I’m glad to have some time back there.

So for today’s card, I combined two challenges and actually got the idea from the ever so talented and sweet Karen. She combined two challenges, Jay Gee’s Nook inspirational challenge and Tiff’s challenge at iheartart.

finds-faves-sagetg005

Here’s what I came up with for these two challenges.

Let me tell you that I had so much fun making this card. I embossed, cut, distressed.

Thanks for stopping by.
