Card Positioning Challenge

Hi Friends,

I was able to do something that I’ve not done in ages. I played in a sketch challenge. I realize I do the Lawnscaping challenges routinely as a design team member.  I was able to make a card for the Card Positioning Challenge blog.  Here’s what the sketch looked like:

This Week's Sketch #237

And here is my take on the sketch:

DSC_0234

I paper-pieced the pumpkin and leaves.  I embossed a panel to add some texture, wrapped some twine around it, attached the leaves and pumpkin, stamped a sentiment and added some bling.

The stamps are Lawn Fawn’s Harvest Season, the patterned paper is by My Mind’s Eye (All Spice).

Thanks for stopping in. Have a great weekend.

Same layout—two looks

Hi Friends

It’s Wednesday already, wow. Yay! The week is going fast.  I hope your week is going well.  I’m having a good week although seem to be either bothered by allergies or coming down with something. I’ve had a headache off and on along with sore throat and earache.

We’re having fall show itself here in Indiana, and I’m loving it. The leaves are starting to change colors, and the temperatures are getting into the 60s which I find very pleasant.

ANYWAY, I wanted to share two cards today that are the same basic layout but totally different looks.  Both cards use Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Botanicals (which as most of you know, I LOVE).

First up a happy birthday card:

birthdayblossoms

The vibrant colors along with bow and flowers just make for a cheery birthday card.

The second card is a sympathy card. I know we don’t enjoy making those, but if ever anyone needs a card is at a time when they are grieving the loss of a loved one.

You can see the feel of the card is different than the birthday card.  I just used more muted colors, some twine, and distress inks.

Hope you enjoyed!  Thanks for stopping by.

Ornaments

Hi Friends

I hope your week is going well.  I can’t believe it’s Thursday already and that we’re nearing the end of September. Wow!  Time flies. It’s going to be the holiday season before you know it.

Along that line of thinking, I thought I’d share a card featuring the new Lawn Fawn “Ornate Ornaments” set.

DSC_0220

This set is so fabulous with all the ornaments, evergreen branches. There are just so many options.  I love paper-piecing, and these larger ornaments are perfect for paper-piecing. I paired them with the My Mind’s Eye 12 days of Christmas paper which I love.  I also added some gems and glitter (stickles) to punch them up a bit.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and blessings

Tuesday

Hi There

I hope your week is off to a great start. Mine sure is. Last night, I spent the evening with two Godly women from my church having coffee and fellowship. It was such an encouragement and just plain fun.  I am so grateful to the Lord for the friends He’s given me. I am so blessed.

Since I was out last night, I didn’t do any crafting, BUT it just so happens, I have some projects that I’ve made and haven’t been shared yet. I thought I’d share one today with you.

This card would also work for the current Lawnscaping challenge.  Speaking of which, have you checked it out? It’s to use letters, text, etc. in your card.  And Lawn Fawn is sponsoring the challenge. A set of the winner’s choice is up for grabs.  Since Lawn Fawn just recently released 9 new sets, I think there finding a stamp set shouldn’t be hard!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a blessed day

Lawnscaping Challenge

Hey There

It’s time for a  new Lawnscaping challenge.  This is a unique and fun one… to use text, letters, etc as a focal point in your card.

This challenge is sponsored by Lawn Fawn!  How exciting is this!

LawnFawn_blinkie

And here is the card that I came up with:

letter

Garrett is my nephew, and he turns 10 in a few weeks. I cannot believe it.  Time has flown by.  Anyway, I thought this would be a fun card to give him on his birthday, not that a 10 year old boy will truly appreciate a handmade card, but he’s worth it.

Now, get creating, a Lawn Fawn set of your choice is up for grabs! Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping blog for some fab inspiration. Can’t wait to see what you come up with

Thursday

Hi Friends,

I hope you’re doing well.  It’s post Lawn Fawn Inspiration week, and I’ve been busy in my new job. So, I haven’t had loads of time to craft.  However, I have some cards made previously and thought I’d share one today.

This little birthday card is one that I think would work well for a male birthday which is always a challenge.  I thought the blue and green of the paper would lend itself to a card for a boy. (I also think it would work for a female but I usually try to bling those up a bit)

DSC_0214

I used Lawn Fawn’s Bake me a Cake which is a go to for me when I need  a birthday card.  I combined with some Jillibean Soup paper and American Crafts felt Rick Rack. Of course, I colored my cake with Copics.

Thanks for stopping in friends!

Making Frosty Friends

Hi There

So, it may be 80 + degrees, but we’re thinking about snow on the Lawn Fawn Design Team!  Hehehee.  Today is the last day of the inspiration week. I hope you’ve had as much fun as we’ve had creating these projects.

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0236

I love these little birds in the set. I mean I seriously love them.  So that’s why I built my card around just them. Don’t get me wrong, the snowmen options are countless, and I cannot wait to play with building snow-people, but I just couldn’t resist these birds.  I love the little bird turning his head looking towards the front. Anyway, I paired the set up with Smitty’s ABC’s to customize the sentiment which is a play on the sentiment that comes with the set.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the inspiration week. If you’ve not already, remember to go the Lawn Fawn blog and check out the projects and sign up for a chance to win!

Lawn Fawn Ornate Ornaments

HI Friends,

Are you enjoying the Lawn Fawn inspiration week? It’s making me think of Christmas, and it was 85 here today! (I’m also realizing that I’m already behind as I’ve not really started on Christmas cards yet…must fix that).

I digress. Today, we’re featuring the new set, Ornate Ornaments. This set has so many options for creating custom ornaments. So much so that I’m going to share 2 projects with you.

First up, a card that would really be easily mass produced for making lots of cards for all those people on your list. The part that took the longest was coloring and cutting the acorns (But coloring and cutting are so much fun, so who cares if it takes a little bit of time?)

Next, I wanted to use the little ornaments in the set to make a gift set.

And here’s a close up of the tag…

Now, be sure to head over the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other designers’ creations. And of course, you know there are giveaways, so good luck!

Thanks for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration week

Hi Friends,

It’s that fun time of the month where we get to highlight some newer Lawn Fawn Stamps! This week is focused on Holidays. Today, we get to share projects from the fabulously adorable “Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum.” The set couldn’t be any more cute, seriously.

I decided to go with tags for my project, here’s a group shot.

DSC_0216-1

Don’t they look fun and happy together? (To get the photo, I dug out this wreath from my Christmas decorations to set the scene.)

Now I have some close ups to share with you too..

I had so much fun making these tags. The images are great for coloring. They go so well with the new My Mind’s Eye Merry and Bright Christmas paper.

Thanks for stopping by today, and remember to check out the Lawn Fawn blog to see the design team’s projects and a chance to win prizes!

Here is the card I made for the challenge:

I chose to do a Thanksgiving card because I figured there would be a lot of Halloween and Christmas cards. Plus, I need to get Thanksgiving cards made (along with Halloween, Christmas and birthday cards!)  AND, I just love LOVE coloring the cornucopia.

Well, I’m sure you are anxious to move onto the next blog in the hop, and next up is Jess Larsen.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to leave comments for chances to win some amazing prizes!!!

Have fun!

Flowery friends

Hi Friends

I hope you are doing well.  Today was my first day in my home office.  I’d say I’m off to a good start. I got up early and got to it. I have a bunch of reading to do, so I made a significant dent in it.  It was quiet, but that is okay.  I think it will take some getting used to, but I’m up for the challenge.

Now, onto today’s card… this is one I made for a friend’s birthday awhile back and haven’t shared yet.

kriscard

You can see that I used Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Botanicals to make a wreath similar to what I did here (but using Harvest Season instead). If I had to do this card over, I would leave out the leaves and flower on the sentiment, but oh well.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Lawnscaping challenge

Hi Friends,

I’m late getting my post up, so sorry about that kids! My spacey brain just dropped the ball on this one.

That notwithstanding, Lawnscaping has another fabulous challenge starting today. And it’s sponsored by the amazing Simon Says Stamp. They are giving away a $25 gift certificate to their online store. They are truly the best online retailer, so this is an awesome prize!

SimonSaysStampBlinkie1

The challenge this time is embossing. It can be dry embossing or heat embossing, your choice! I love embossing, so this was a fun challenge. Here’s what I cam up with

DSC_0214

I embossed the leaves from Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Botanicals with clear embossing powder.  Then I embossed Judy’s blooms with sparkly embossing powder.  I made a panel of kraft and distressed the edges with Antique Linen, stamped the sentiment. I cut out the images, arranged on the panel and attached.  Pretty easy card which was good for me since I just got back from a trip and have been pretty tired.

Thank you Kelly

Hi Friends

Today is a fun post to thank Kelly Marie, one of the founders of Lawn Fawn whose stamps this blog adores.  She’s been so good to the design team, and we wanted to take some time to say thanks and thought a blog hop would be a nice start.

You should be arriving here via Laurel’s blog.  Here’s the card I made and have sent to Kelly

DSC_0223

It’s pretty simple, but I wanted to showcase the fun Petaloo flowers.

Next stop on the blog hop is Ashley! Have fun and thanks for popping in.

Hi!

I hope you’re having a good week.  I’ve got another thank you to share with you.  It uses another one of the sentiments from the new Lawn Fawn Many Thanks set.
