Tiff’s sketch challenge

Hi Friends,

Hope you’re enjoying a fabulous weekend.  It’s been a nice and DRY day here in Indy. We actually got some work done in the yard which we desperately needed to do.

I wanted to play along with Tiff’s sketch challenge.  She does some amazing sketches each Sunday.  Check out this week’s sketch:

And here’s my take on the sketch…

Happy Birthday

Hi Friends

Boy, it seems like forever since I’ve posted. I thought I’d share a card I made using the Lawn Fawn Year One set.

lfyearonev2

This little set makes putting together a quick, cute card, super duper easy.

I used more My Mind’s Eye Paper and some fun gems. I used a Martha Stewart balloon punch which I think is so fun.

Hope you’re having a great day and surviving the rain.

Hugs and blessings.

Congrats

Hi Friends

Happy Tuesday, hope your week is off to a great start. Things in Indy have been wet, but thankfully we've dodged the really dangerous weather that other areas have endured (at least so far). Today’s card is for our cousin (Carlin’s cousin, mine by marriage). She and her fiance just got married on the beach in Florida (so nice!) And this card is for them.

DSC_0063

I used Lawn Fawn’s new Happily Ever After set. The hearts and sentiment was perfect. Of course, I colored the hearts with my Copic markers. I also used Teeny Tiny backdrops to add the background in. I distressed the edges with some Ranger Distress inks, and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey. And I just tied some twine around the card to add just a little something to it.

Thanks for stopping in.

Easter Cards

Hi Friends,

Today is a somber day for Christians as it is the day honoring when Christ was crucified. This was a day that had to occur for Christ to redeem those who would follow Him. It’s important to remember the wrath that He endured to save me from my sins.

Sunday, will be a much more cheerful day in celebration of the resurrection. In anticipation of that day, I made some cards and sent to some friends and family. I used the Easter Joy set from Taylored Expressions. It was cute yet it has wonderful scripture to go along with the images.

Here are a few cards I made for the holiday:

Anniversary card

Hi Friends

Surprisingly, this card is not from our anniversary. This is one I made for Carlin’s parents. We happen to share wedding anniversaries. It wasn’t planned but quite a nice date to share.

The pears are so fun, and I wanted to give them a fun whimsical card. The Lawn Fawn “My Silly Valentine” set was perfect. I thought the Pear couple went so well with this Basic Grey Paper. On the inside, I made a sentiment using Lawn Fawn’s newest alphabet set “Smitty’s ABC’s". It state’s “to a perfect ‘Pear’”. Unfortunately, I forgot to photograph it.

kparentsanniversary

I colored the pears to coordinate with the paper using my Copics (Y26, and YG95, YG97 and W00).

Happy Birthday

Hi Friends,

I hope your week is off to a great start. Today, I’m sharing a birthday card made for my Father-in-Law. He happens to be an (or was, he’s semi-retired) independent handyman, so I went with that theme for his card.

verlbday

I used the October afternoon paper as a back drop. I like it when I find masculine”ish” paper. I know we all struggle with cards for men. I want to add some ribbon, etc. However, I think that this fits the bill for a man. I think he liked it. (Probably liked the cookies and gifts that accompanied it even better).

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary

Hi Friends,

Okay, so today, I’m not sharing a card or papercrafting project. Today is our third wedding anniversary. I just wanted to take a moment to honor my dear husband, and the Lord who brought us together.

And I thought I’d share some wedding photos…(If you’ll indulge me)

Three years ago today, I got to marry this handsome man. (Who also happens to be the nicest man I’ve ever met).

Here’s a photo of us…

And a couple other photos I really like

(could these two be any cuter, seriously? The beautiful little girl is Brooke, a dear friend of mine’s daughter, and the handsome guy is my nephew, Garrett)

(the guys had a lot of fun when they were getting ready)

bffs2

My two best friends…. They were so wonderful, and I love them both so much.  I’m so grateful they were part of our wedding day.

candbffs

Even though they were kissing on my new hubby (wink)

And one last photo….(this is Carlin’s favorite, so if you’re still with me, enjoy)

dipcolor

He loves the photo of him dipping me. (I like that he didn’t drop me)

Here are some of my favorite things about Carlin:

  1. He loves the Lord Jesus and is such a great spiritual leader in our house. He’s helped me grow in my walk with the Lord so much
  2. His sense of humor. He makes me laugh so much. Silly things, I love it!
  3. He loves animals, and embraces our pets (we merged pet families when we got married, and he truly became “daddy” to all of them).
  4. He is nurturing and caring. When I’m upset, he supports me and comforts me.
  5. He is super patient. It is really difficult to get him upset.
  6. He has an amazing smile and the most gorgeous brown eyes
  7. He works so hard and doesn’t complain
  8. He is smart
  9. He is humble (He will absolutely detest this list I’ve put together, he will be so embarrassed).
  10. He loves me more than I thought anyone ever could.

Thanks for indulging me.   I couldn’t have wished for a better husband and best friend. I would never have asked for so much in one person.  I know he’s a gift from the Lord, and our marriage is truly from the Lord.  God has blessed us so much, beyond what we can quantify. So I give Him all the praise.

Thanks for indulging me this walk down memory lane.

Lawnscaping Challenge #8

April-Challenge-Number-8-400px

Hi Friends

It’s time for another fun Lawnscaping Challenge. It’s our 8th challenge, can you believe it? Time flies when you’re having fun, right?

So this challenge is to use critters on your project. Pretty easy to do right??

Here’s what I came up with:

callingcritterslk

I wanted to use my neglected Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea stamps set, and this is what I came up with. I have several friends with upcoming birthdays, so I’m stocking up on birthday cards. I wasn’t crazy about the card in all honesty, and then I added the googlie eye. Now, I like it much better. Why is that googlie eyes make such a difference, and why don’t I use them more often. Things to ponder.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Our fabulous sponsor this time is Lawn Fawn

LawnFawnLogo

Winner will get a stamp set of choice. With the latest release, there are lots to choose from. Kelly Marie is our guest designer, and we are grateful to have her part of the challenge.

Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping blog to see the other design team projects. I hope you play along, this should be a fun challenge with lots of fun projects and ideas. I cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Year One

Hi Friends,

Today is the last day of this month’s Lawn Fawn inspiration week. I hope you’ve enjoyed the projects that have been shared. I think you will love these new stamps.

Today, we’re sharing the stamp set created to celebrate Lawn Fawn’s 1 year anniversary (hence the name Year One).  If you placed an order over $50 last month, then you got this set as a thank you gift. It will now be available to order.

For my project, I’ve just used the sentiment. I went a little crazy with the My Mind’s Eye Patterned paper and thought that a sentiment was enough.

yearone2

I distressed the edges of each layer to add some dimension to the layers. And I finally go to using my Webster’s Pages ribbon. It looked a little blah, so I added the bow with, SURPRISE, a little rose in the center. (It went so well with the flowered paper, how could I not include it).  I thought adding a few little gems under the sentiment was a nice touch to make it pop.

Hope you like. Remember to go to the Lawn Fawn blog and sign up for your chance to win. And please go see the other designer’s projects.

Smitty’s ABC’s

Hi Friends

We’re continuing with the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week today by previewing a new alphabet stamp set being released.  As with other Lawn Fawn alphabet stamps, they line up so nicely. It makes it so easy to make your own sentiments.

Both Chan and I gave you a glimpse in our previews from yesterday.  Today, I have a verse from the bible spelled out using the alphabet set.

smittys2

I love this verse for Easter cards. It was perfect to showcase this versatile alphabet stamp set. I wanted God’s word to be center stage, and so I just stamped out the sentiment, and embellished with some pretty patterned papers from My Mind’s Eye (LOVE these).  I also added some ribbon and pretty roses (which I appear to be hooked on right now).

Remember to go to the Lawn Fawn blog to see the design team’s samples and for multiple chances to win prizes (Yes, I did say multiple).

Here are the direct links to the design team’s blogs, so please go leave some love.

Lawn Fawn “Fanciful Frames”

Hi Friends!

Welcome to day 2 of the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week.  I hope you are enjoying it!  I think you’re going to like what we’re previewing today.

Today, we’re showing Fanciful Frames.  I think that this set will be loved by card-makers and scrap-bookers alike. I decided to make a card, and I’m getting in the Easter mode.  I actually made two cards using the Fanciful Frames, the bunny and grass from the Critters in the Burbs.  (There’s a sneak in there of Smitty’s ABC’s too)

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week “Happily Ever After”

Hi there,

It’s time again for Lawn Fawn’s inspiration week. We are sharing some super fun new sets that I think you’re really going to love.

Today, we’re showing examples from the “Happily Ever After” set. It’s full of great images for weddings, showers, etc. Here’s what I came up with:

PINK Invites

Hi there friends

I was asked to make some invitations for my dear friend’s daughter’s birthday. The only prerequisite was that they be pink. Okay, I can do that.

She will be turning 4 and loves pink, so here’s what I came up with:

(Group shot)

Some photos of individual cards

So you can see they’re not all exactly the same

And the inside…

I used Lawn Fawn’s Harold’s ABC’s to customize the invites. I found some pink prima flowers that were on clearance that added such a nice touch to these invitations. I used my Silhouette to cute the cake shape out for the invitation base. I think that they are a perfect invite for a little girl’s birthday party. I hope she likes them.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Lunar Patterned Paper

Hi Friends

I hope your week is off to a good start. We have had some thunderstorms coming through.  Our pets always get so nervous, and scared when it storms. I feel so bad for them.

Today’s card is one I made for the current Lawnscaping Challenge.  I had already provided the one that is on the design team blog, but I thought I’d go ahead and share this one. Seems timely.

DSC_0218

You can see I used the Lawn Fawn Lunar Lights set to create patterned paper.  It’s so bright and cheery.  I got to spend some time coloring, so it was fun to make.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lawnscaping challenge

April-Challenge-Number-7-400px

Hi Friends,

It’s time for our next installment of the Lawnscaping challenges. This one is to make your own patterned paper using stamps.  This is such a fun challenge and good reminder. I love patterned paper, so I sometimes forget that I can make my own customized paper using stamps.

Here’s what I came up with.

DSC_0118

I took the easy way out and used Lawn Fawn’s Teeny Tiny Backdrops. I embossed them with clear embossing powder. I thought the stars went so well with the Plus One set mobile.

SimonSaysStampBlinkie1

Our sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp with their super generous $25 gift credit to their store. They carry Lawn Fawn stuff, so you can get hooked up pretty nicely.
