Lawn Fawn Grand Greetings

Hi Friends!

Welcome to another Lawn Fawn Inspiration post.  Today, we are featuring the new set, Grand Greetings which has big bold sentiments that you will reach for over and over.

I made a set of cards that I intend to give as a gift to a friend.

Here’s a group shot:

And now some individual photos of each card:

I used each of the sentiments in the set matched up with the wonderful Bright Side paper.  There are also two borders which I didn’t use.  You can see how versatile this set is. I’m sure that I’ll reach for it over and over.  I hope my friend likes the gift set.

Thanks for stopping in today.  Remember there are multiple chances for prizes at the Lawn Fawn blog, so be sure to sign up.

Lawn Fawn Flying by

Hello Friends,

I hope you’re doing well and that your week is off to a good start.

We are experiencing a typical spring in Indiana. This simply means that last week, it was 80 degrees Fahrenheit (Or hotter) last week and this week, we have the heater back on.  I’m all right with it actually because I wasn’t ready for summer like temperatures yet.

Anyway, enough of my rambling about the weather. I am sure you are not here to read about my opinion on Indiana weather.  Today is another fun day of Lawn Fawn Inspiration week.  We are featuring the mini set called Flying by.  For a mini set, there are so many fun possibilities, here are some projects I created using this cute little set.

Of course, I had to incorporate the fun Bright Side patterned paper. The best part is that I was able to use up some scraps I had. I love when I can maximize my paper and make it go further.  (Otherwise, I begin to hoard it).

One thing that I love about this set, it would be so great for making some masculine projects which are always so hard to do.  Of course, I didn’t showcase that with my projects, but to me, paper airplanes fit so well with boys. I suspect at some point you will see a project or two with this set for masculine cards.

If you haven’t already, run over to the Lawn Fawn blog to sign up for your chance to win some fabulous prizes. (They are so generous in their giveaways, so get signed up!)

Thanks for stopping in today.

More Lawn Fawn Fun

Hi Friends

I hope you enjoyed a fabulous weekend. They go by so fast don’t they?  In a blink of an eye, it’s Monday again.

I spent a lot of the weekend working on wedding invitations for a sweet friend who will be getting married in May (so the pressure is on to get these done). I will share photos of them when I get them all pulled together.

I thought that today, I’d share another project I made using the new Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After set.

I just love this little froggie.  I combined him with some of the new Lawn Fawn Bright Side paper.

Speaking of the Bright Side paper, some of the talented scrapbookers created some fabulous layouts that are being featured on the Lawn Fawn blog today. If you haven’t already, be sure to check it out.

Thanks for stopping in today.

Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After

Hi Friends

It’s time for some Lawn Fawn Inspiration!  These stamps were released earlier, but we’re taking some time to spotlight Critters Ever After today.

Here’s what I came up with:

I used the adorable dragon from the set and then created a custom sentiment using Claire’s ABCs.  I put it with lots of bright paper from the Bright Side and this is what I ended up with.

If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog for the details on winning some fun goodies.  There are some amazing projects there by the design team which are sure to inspire.

Also remember to join in the fun on the current Lawnscaping challenge

Have a great day

Lawnscaping Challenge

inspired

Hi Friends,

I’ve made it back from England! I hope you had a great week last week and enjoyed the weekend. I was so glad to be home Friday and be able to enjoy the gorgeous weather in Indianapolis.

Fortunately, I am home home in time for a new Lawnscaping challenge. (Confession time, I made the card ahead of my trip because I knew I would have trouble kick-starting my mojo after being away from my crafting supplies for a week). This challenge is sponsored by the wonderful Lawn Fawn!

This challenge is to create a project that’s inspired another crafter. (The inspiration can be anything, very open, just give props to the crafter).

My inspiration was Jennifer McGuire. She’s so fabulous and nice. And my card has turned out to be more of a CASE, but it doesn’t have to be that way for this challenge:

I just love this challenge. There are so many talented crafters out there to inspire you. I cannot wait to see what you come up with.

Now that I’m back in the U.S. and should be for nearly a month, I look forward to being able to catch up on my blog browsing!

Bag Tag

Hi Friends,

Hope you’ve had a great week!

Today, I thought I’d share something that I made. I’ve had this in my mind for awhile. I wanted to use the Lawn Fawn Bon Voyage set to make a tag for my luggage, so I finally tried it.

Here’s how it turned out:

DSC_0281-2

I layered on coats of Ultra Thick Embossing Powder to try and make it sturdier, so we’ll see how it holds up. I had thought about Modge Podge, so if this falls apart, I’ll try that next. You could also laminate it, but I don’t have those resources at my disposal. On the back of it I wrote my name and phone number and also embossed it.

Thanks for stopping in.

Critters Thank You

Hello Friends,

How is your week going?  This is another pre-scheduled post, so thanks for stopping in to visit.

DSC_0290

I made this card using for Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Burbs and Many Thanks.

I made this card for us to give our vet’s office. They were so kind and empathetic for George’s last visit.  We wanted them to know how much we appreciated their kindness.  They have some tough responsibilities, and we are really grateful for the care they give our pets.

Thanks for stopping in

Bee Happy

Hi Friends,

How was your weekend?  I hope you had a great weekend.

I’ll admit it, I’m prescheduling my posts this week. Work calls me to travel again. This trip is off to London which is fun!  I’m planning to connect with some friends that I used to work with.

I decided to pre-schedule some posts this week.  Today, I wanted to post a card using Gnome Sweet Gnome.

I just adore this fun little set.  There are so many options with these stamps.  And they go so perfectly with the new Lawn Fawn Bright Side paper.

Taylored Expressions Sketch challenge

Hi Friends,

Happy Saturday!  I wanted to spend a little fun time crafting this morning.  I’ve had some creative block recently, so when this happens, I go to sketches. I look at ones I’ve got in my notebook, saved on my laptop, or at sketch challenges.

Today, I decided to play in the latest Taylored Expressions Sketch challenge. I recently got one her newest releases, Faith in Bloom, and I thought this was a good time to put it to use.

Here’s my take on the sketch:

This set is so cute and has some great verses, so I’m sure I will get a lot of use from it.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy your weekend.

Now, my card isn’t my usual style, but I thought I’d try to branch out a bit.

Lawnscaping Challenge

sketch2Hi Friends

It’s time for another fun Lawnscaping Challenge. This is a sketch challenge, and we have a great sketch to use for inspiration. This sketch was drawn up by our guest designer, Chari, who is an amazing talent.

Here’s the card I came up with using the sketch… I’m still stuck on the super fun Bright Side paper from Lawn Fawn.

This challenge is sponsored by the awesome online store, Simon Says Stamp.

I wanted to thank you for the sweet comments to my last post. Friday was a rough day, and the days leading up to it were REALLY tough. We spoiled George on Thursday and even Friday morning. I think he had a pretty good last day. A lot of tears have been shed, but as I look at old photos of him in his younger days, I know we did the right thing. He lived a long and full life, and his body was just failing him.

I am so grateful for God entrusting such a wonderful pet to our care. He was more than a dog, he was a best friend and family member. I treasure all the fond memories I have of him.

Thanks again friends! I hope you will play along with the fun Lawnscaping Sketch Challenge.

Stuff

Hi Friends

I thought that I’d share another Lawn Fawn project with you featuring some of the exciting new products.

butterfly

Can you believe it? No stamping involved! I used the papers and sticker letters from the Bright Side paper.  I diecut the butterfly using my Stampin’ Up! Sizzix.  I love butterflies!

On another topic…. This next section is an emotional outpouring on my part, so feel free to discontinue reading now if your prefer not to read about personal things.

I don’t typically like to share personal or sad stuff here at the blog because the blog is for featuring creativity and intended to be a fun place to visit.  Having said that, I thought I’d share with you today that I’m struggling with a difficult time at the moment. My husband and I have decided that it’s time for us to put our beloved George to sleep.  He’s 19 years old, and he’s lived a great and full life. Obviously, he’s very old for a dog, and his body is failing him. He’s got alzheimer’s and arthritis. The arthritis continues to worsen at an aggressive pace.  We don’t want him to suffer.

I’ve had him for over 18 years, my adult life. I got him shortly after I moved on my own (guess I’m dating myself a little bit here).  He’s been a major part of my life and best friend for so long that him not being here is going to leave a huge hole in our family.  I honestly feel like my heart is breaking, and that I’m killing my dog. But it’s not fair to him to keep him around for me and allow him to get to a point where he’d be suffering.  So tonight is my last night with him, and I will be preparing for him a nice steak dinner.

My brother and nephew will be coming over because my nephew wanted to see him one last time (which melts and breaks my heart all at the same time).  For us humans, we’ll be having Pizza, but George will eat like a  king.

You know, I thought I’d be ready for this. I knew it was coming, yet I’m  a mess.  I thank God for providing me such a wonderful pet for so many years.  I also feel a responsibility for George to be a good steward of the gift God gave me.

I thought I’d share a photo of my boy, my first pet from when I moved on my own:

George at Christmas time complete with bow… always a good sport

george

So many of my photos of him aren’t online (back when I got him, that wasn’t nearly as common. But this one is so appropriate because he has that smile on his face.

I trust in God’s sovereignty over all things and know that it’s okay for me to grieve. I am grateful for a Lord who blesses me in so many ways, and one of the ways is by the pets he’s brought into our lives.

Thanks for reading friends.

Hugs and blessings
