Happy Friday

Hi Friends

I hope you have enjoyed a great week. We just returned from spending a week in a cabin in the woods in Southern Indiana (Nashville).  It was fabulous to just relax and not have to be doing things. (I did get a few texts from work that I had to address, but it was still a nice break from reality.)

I wanted to share a couple cards I made using Taylored Expressions Word A La Carte stamps, Grace and Faith. These stamps are so lovely, and the cards come together so quickly with these bold images.

Here are my projects:

faith

I let the gorgeous My Mind’s Eye Paper, Collectable Notable guide my coloring for the letters and flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed weekend!

Taylored Expressions April Studio Challenge

It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we  have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.

The theme for April is:

Mix & Match!  TE stamp sets are designed with plenty of images and sentiments so they are "self-contained" for lots of creativity, but sometimes it's fun to mix and match several different sets for even more possibilities.

Your challenge is to create a project using three or more TE stamp sets.

I decided to create a card scene for Mother’s Day using the sets:

Cozy Cottages

Made in the Shade

Lavender Bouquet

Basket Full

One thing I love to do is combine stamp sets.  You can really extend the value and use of your stamps if you do this.  And so many of the Taylored Expressions sets compliment each other, it’s not hard to do!

I love to create scenes as you may know if you’ve visited previously. My mom adores woodland critters, so I thought these sets came together so nicely to create a fun.  I colored and cut the birdhouse images (used my Copics).  I picked my colors to coordinate with the patterned paper I wanted to use, We R Memory Keepers, Simply Spring.

Here’s a close up:

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week-Happy Mother’s Day

Hi Friends,

We’re continuing with Lawn Fawn Inspiration week. Today features projects using the Happy Mother’s Day and Year Three mini sets.

I decided to make some Mother’s Day cards (since it is coming up for those of us in the US):

DSC_0091

motherday

I went with a  Clean and Simple design for both cards.  On the first card, I added some corner rounding to just add a little extra touch to the design, and the second card, I added three banners from Pink Lemonade and some Lawn Trimmings for some added punch.

Please visit the Lawn Fawn blog to see some of the design team creations. You are sure to be inspired, and there are prizes!!!

On a side note, please join with me in adding to your prayer list the people of West Texas.  What a terrible week this has been.  I continue to pray for the victims and the law enforcement in the Boston tragedy. I know that God is sovereign and in control, and I just pray that people will turn to Him.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Hi Friends

Welcome to day 3 of Lawn Fawn inspiration week.  Today we are featuring the newest alphabet set called Riley’s ABCs.  You can see how cute it is, and it’s a nice size, not too small and not too large.

I decided to make a custom sentiment for my card

I figured I could use this card for someone who has just moved or had a baby!

Thanks for stopping in today, be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn blog for more inspiration.

Lawn Fawn Daphne’s Closet

Hi Friends

Before I jump right into my project for today, I wanted to acknowledge the bombings in Boston. What a horrible event.  I pray for those families impacted and the people injured. There is so much evil in the world. I just pray that people turn to Jesus for comfort.

Sometimes when things like this happen, it doesn’t feel right to blog on happily as if nothing occurred which is why I wanted to start off my post saying something about it.

But now, onto happier topics…Today, is the second day in the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week. I am featuring a card using Daphne’s Closet.  I just love these gorgeous papers. The colors are so pretty, right up my alley.

I also decided to use the super adorable Hearts Dies and newest alphabet set, Riley’s ABC’s. I added a little touch of Lemon Lawn trimmings to accent one of the hearts.

Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn Blog to see the rest of the design team projects and to sign up for some fun prizes.

Taylored Expressions Get Well Card

Hi Friends,

I hope you are having a great week. We are finally seeing signs of spring in Indiana, and I am so happy about it.

Today, I thought I’d share a get well card I made using Taylored Expressions Tea-riffic stamp set

DSC_0095

This stamp set is so nice, it comes with coordinating dies, so you get all that you need in one package.  I combined with the fun Pebbles Basics 1 Cardmaking Pad. I also used some of the new dies that were released  (Tag stacklets 1, and Ric Rac Borders.)  I colored the image with my Copics and then put the whole card together, topping it off with some ribbon and twine.

Hopefully, I won’t need to send this anytime soon to anyone, but Get Well cards are always nice to have on hand to be ready.

Taylored Expressions April Spotlights:

Hi Friends

Happy Friday! I thought it would never arrive. I’m so ready for the weekend.

Today is a fun Taylored Expressions day. We are spotlighting some of the new products.  With Mother’s day right around the corner, what better time to start thinking about our moms.

I went with a Clean and Simple projects.  Here is what I came up with:

DSC_0098 copy

I just love those Flower Box Sprigs and Flowers die cuts and had to use them. Of course, I used them a little differently than in a flower box, but I still like the effect.  I also pulled out the sentiment from the new Lavender Bouquet stamp set.  (isn’t that set and all of the Taylored Expressions bouquet sets just stunning?!)

The rest of the Baker’s Dozen design team are spotlighting projects from the new release, so please be sure to check them out

One last thing, a super fun thing….did you happen to see the Moxie Fab blog?  Several Taylored Expressions stamps received the Moxie Fab stamp of approval?  How cool is that? I know it’s not surprising because they are fabulous.

Have a great weekend friends

Taylored Expressions April Sneak Peek: Graphic Greetings Grad and Windy Tree Die

Hi Friends

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well and that you are enjoying the sneak peaks for the upcoming Taylored Expressions release.  There are some awesome stamps and dies coming out this month.

For today’s post, I get to preview two of the soon-to-be released items. First up, Graphic Greetings Grad:

DSC_0095-1

(I went for a chalkboard type of look, I tried doing the smudging that is so trendy right now, but I couldn’t pull it off.)

For the next project, Windy Tree die:

DSC_0094

This card was made using Distress inks on the panel using the Windy Tree die.   I also distressed the card base where the tree would cover, and popped up the tree panel with foam tape to create a recessed look.

Be sure to check out the posts by the rest of the Baker’s Dozen, plus a couple super special guests for today’s post!

Lawnscaping Challenge #55

486171_4938557747590_512983511_n

Hi Friends

Today, we are kicking off a new Lawnscaping Challenge.  This one is featuring embossing (any kind of embossing, your choice).

SimonSaysStamp_160x240

Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring this challenge, and giving a gift card to their amazing online store.

I decided to try out water-coloring since I got some of those DerWent Inktense water color markers.  Here’s my first attempt using them.

DSC_0092-1

I embossed the flower onto watercolor paper and then colored with the markers. I embossed the sentiment on the banner and then attached it.

I am looking forward to playing with these markers so more and getting the hang of them.

I hope you decide to play along, be sure to check out the inspiration from the design team at the Lawnscaping blog.

Have a blessed day
