The Sky’s the Limit

Hey Friends

I hope you are having a great week, the weekend is almost here!

I thought I’d share a card that I made for a dear friend who just graduated from college.  Rather than doing a typical style graduation card, I wanted to do something a little different, so this is what I came up with. (She’s already received the card, so I am safe to post it now).

I used Lawn Fawn Sunny Skies and Harold’s ABCs. I paper-pieced with some Echo Park paper, and this is the result.
I just love making custom sentiments and thought this was perfect for a graduate.

Thanks for stopping in, have a blessed day

I’m here for you

Hi Friends
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. We were locked up inside our home trying to dodge the heat. Finally, yesterday, the temperatures have dropped to more reasonable levels (like you can actually breath outside).
Today’s high is supposed to be in the high 80s, and it’s funny because that will seem cool to the triple digit heat index we’ve had recently.
Anyway, I thought I’d share a card that I made just for fun.

I just love Lawn Fawn’s Gnome Sweet Gnome set.  I thought it would be fun to put one of the birds in the bird bath splashing around.  I used a sentiment from On the mend.  The paper is from the Lawn Fawn Bride Side collection.
Thanks for stopping in today! Have a great week

Happy 4th of July

Hi Friends
I wish all my fellow United States friends a happy Independence day!  To those troops serving and their families, I say thank you and lift you up in prayer.
I wanted to post on the blog a special card drive that is being done for the troops.  You can head over to the Lawnscaping blog with all the details.  In a nutshell, Laurel Beard, whose husband serves in the military and is currently deployed, is collecting cards to send over to the troops so that they have special cards to send back to their families, and friends.  Please go to the Lawnscaping blog for all the details.  The drive will continue through the end of the month.
My card today isn’t for the card drive, but for our pastor whose birthday is today.  Since his birthday is the 4th of July, I like to incorporate that into the card design.

I used some Lawn Fawn stamps to create the card (Enjoy the Ride, Sophie’s Sentiments, and Teeny Tiny Backdrops, Bake me a Cake).
I wish I would’ve had this card created for the current Lawnscaping challenge which is to use dimension.
I’ll be posting some cards that I’m sending to Laurel for the card drive. I sure hope you decide to send some in. Let me know if you create something for the card drive, I’d love to see it!
Thanks for stopping in today, have a blessed 4th of July

Lawnscaping Challenge

use dimension

Hi Friends,

I hope you enjoyed a great weekend and are surviving the heat or storms if you are impacted. We are enduring excessive heat in Indiana

Today kicks off a new Lawnscaping challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, the awesome online retailer. They are giving a $25 gift certificate to the winner.

Our challenge this time around is to use dimension. This is an effect that I love to use on my cards. Having said this, I really don’t like the way my card came out.  But let’s go with it.

There is absolutely no stamping on this card which is something. I used supplies from Lawn Fawn’s Bright Side collection and some Lawn Fawn Trimmings

I can’t wait to see what you come up with .

Operation Safe and Sound

Hello Friends
Today, I’m participating in a really important effort to help out a crafty friend, Christy Reuling.  Many of you know her already.  She’s an amazing crafter, Lawnscaping design team member, writer, Mom, and just a sweet friend.
A couple of weeks ago her family came home from being out to find that their house hand been broken into.  The thieves took anything of value and other things that had little cash value but loads of sentimental value. You know, things that cannot be replaced.
One of the great things about the paper crafting community is how it values around those in need to help each other. That’s what we’re trying to do with today’s post. All the details can be found either at the Lawnscaping blog or at A Blog Named Hero
A Paypal donation account has been set up (through Melissa) and can be found by clicking here.

Here’s a card in honor of Christy…

I used Lawn Fawn Bright Side Papers, Judy’s Blooms, Flutter By and Sophie’s Sentiments.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you donate.

This set is so adorable. I have so many ideas to pair it with other fun Lawn Fawn sets, but today, I just wanted to use it (with the addition of the birthday sentiment and candle from Bake me a Cake)

Be sure to head to the Lawn Fawn blog for tons of inspiration. (and chance at some fun prizes).

Lawnscaping Challenge

colorsplashHi Friends

Welcome to another Lawnscaping challenge.  This is another fun one that I know you will want to participate in. It’s a color splash challenge, so just a splash of color on top of your neutrals.

Lawn Fawn is our fabulous sponsor, giving the winner the stamp set of their choice.

I love these challenges. I decided to go a different direction than I usually do for color splash challenges. Here’s what I came up with:

I think it’s because I’m addicted to Lawn Fawn’s Sunny Skies. I just can’t quit using it. So I decided to do white/black, and my splash of color be yellow from the sun.

I hope you play along with this fun challenge.
