More Halloween Fun

Hi Friends

Thought I’d share another Halloween card today.

This post is going to be brief, I’m not feeing too great or chatty.  But I do hope you enjoy the card.

DSC_0286

I’ve used Lawn Fawn’s Happy Haunting stamp set which is just so fun for Halloween.  Today, I used more traditional Halloween colors.

I thought I’d enter this into a couple of challenges that it qualifies for:  Lily Pads challenge which is a sketch challenge and this is the sketch:

10-11-DN-810x1024

And I thought I’d submit it for the current Wee Memories challenge which is a “free-for-all.”

Thanks for stopping by friends

Happy Haunting

Hi Friends!

I hope your week has gotten off to a great start.

My week is shaping up to be quite busy, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to spend too much time in the craft room at night (boo).  But most of the stuff I have going on is fun, so I cannot complain too much.

I thought I’d share a Halloween card today since it’s the season right now.

DSC_0286

Again, I made this for a sketch challenge a couple of weeks ago and didn’t get it posted in time. Oh well, I have a Halloween card made to send out.

I used the super fun My Mind’s Eye paper (Mischievous) with Lawn Fawn’s Happy Haunting.

Thanks for stopping in today!

Halloween paper-piecing

Hi Friends,

I hope you’re having a great week. It’s pretty dreary and rainy here in Indianapolis, but it happens.

Today, I wanted to share a Halloween card that I’m entering into the current Wee Memories challenge which is to make a holiday themed project, any holiday. So here’s my project:

DSC_0281-1

All of the images on this card are paper-pieced.  (This card would qualify for the current Lawnscaping challenge featuring the paper-piecing technique).  I used Lawn Fawn’s  Happy Haunting with My Mind’s Eye “Mischievous” paper.  I did darken some of the house with my Copics, but other than that, it’s all paper-pieced, including the ghosts!  (Notice that the house has multiple papers paper-pieced onto it to create the look)

I hope you like. Thanks for stopping in today.

Lawnscaping Challenge

Lawnscaping_Ch_20_400

Hi Friends,

I hope you had a great weekend.  It’s time for another Lawnscaping challenge.  It’s another good one, paper-piecing.  Lawn Fawn is our awesome sponsor for this fun challenge.

I love paper-piecing, and Lawn Fawn stamps are perfect for that.  I decided to go with one of the first Lawn Fawn sets, Sew Lovely.

DSC_0282

I used some My Mind’s Eye paper. As you know, I love their patterned paper. I added some died seem binding and a couple roses to complete the look.

Be sure to head to the Lawnscaping blog to check out the rest of the design team’s projects.  I hope you will play along with us for this fun challenge. I can’t wait to see your creations.

CPS Sketch Challenge

Hi Friends

Happy Friday!  Anyone have any big weekend plans?  We are going to see “Real Steel” tonight with my brother and nephew.  I have to admit when I saw the previews I thought it was Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots comes to the big screen.  And I thought it looked bad. Well, then my brother and nephew asked us to go.  We read some of the reviews, and it’s gotten fairly decent reviews.  Now, don’t get me wrong, I have very low expectations, but we are going to give it a chance.  I’d love to hear what you have planned for the weekend?

Now, onto paper-crafting… I don’t know about you, but I struggle, and I mean STRUGGLE with coming up with layouts for my cards.  Last night, I decided to check out the CPS sketch challenge.  And that is what I used to create this card:

DSC_0284

As I said yesterday, I need birthday cards, so I came up with this. I used Lawn Fawn’s Bake me a Cake set which is my go-to birthday set.  I also combined it with some Jillibean Soup patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend!

October Birthdays

Hi Friends

I hope you’re having a great week and enjoyed the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week.

October is a busy month for birthdays, so I’ve been busy making birthday cards (some of which have already been shared).  Today, I thought I’d share a birthday card I made for my brother who turned 40 on Monday.

The Lawn Fawn Bon Voyage set is perfect for him because he’s an airplaine mechanic.

Hope you have a great day!

Lawn Fawn “My Cup of Tea”

Hi Friends

I hope you’ve enjoyed the Lawn Fawn Inspiration week.  Today is the last day, and we’ve saved a fun little set for last.  We are featuring “My Cup of Tea” today.  It is a mini set full of cute images.  Here’s what I came up with using the set:

DSC_0289

I decided to put it with some lovely My Mind’s Eye paper (Gertie).  I played off the colors in the paper.  I added a small bow from jute and a customized pearl (colored with a Copic to coordinate).

Remember to head over the Lawn Fawn blog to see the projects the design team came up with.  Of course, there are giveaways, so you won’t want to miss that.

Be sure to check out the last day of the Just Keep Swimming Blog hop. I have a post here.  There are tons of designers involved and some great prizes. The most important thing is that the hop is set up to raise money for a family struggling with cancer.  One thing that has always impressed me with the paper-crafting community is the generousity.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a blessed day

Just Keep Swimming

swim-for-katie

Hi Friends,

I am honored to be participating in the blog hop/fundraiser for Katie Renz.  Below is some information about the blog hop.

From October 10-12 some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer.  If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year.  This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight.  A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer.  Her first post about it is here.  The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post here.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a dig and SVG cut file.  100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family.  Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support.  In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale.  Direct donations are also being accepted.  Information central is HERE.  This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

Here is the donation button if you’d like to access it from here:

Another Sally's post

Hi Again Friends,

Yes, I have two posts today. This post is also featuring Lawn Fawn's Sally's ABC's.

I decided to separate the two because I also want to submit this one to the Young Crafter's Unite challenge (even thought I am not as young as they are, I hope that doesn't disqualify me). The challenge is to make a coordinating envelope.

As I mentioned yesterday, we went to wedding over the weekend. We gave the couple a gift card. Incidentally, I used to be against giving gift cards, but after our wedding, I have a new perspective. We loved the gift cards we received, it helped us fill in things we needed but hadn't gotten. Since we weren't going to have a beautifully gift wrapped present, I wanted to make a pretty card and envelope.

Remember to visit the Lawn Fawn blog to see the Design Team's projects.

Thanks for stopping in again today :)

Lawn Fawn's Sally's ABC's

Hi Friends
Welcome to day 2 of Lawn Fawn's inspiration week. Today, we're showcasing Sally's ABC's.

Each Thanksgiving, Carlin and I host our family's for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I thought it would be fun to make place cards using Sally's ABCs. Here are our place cards:

And here is the whole family's place cards together :
You can see that I paired Sally's ABC's with Harvest Season. I think it will help our table be a little more festive.
Thanks for stopping in today. Be sure to head over the Lawn Fawn blog to see the entire design team's projects and for a chance to win. Lawn Fawn is always doing some fun little giveaway.

Lawn Fawn Winter Fox

Hi Friends

Happy Monday!  I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We had a beautiful weekend in Indianapolis, warm temperatures, sunny skies, and the fall colors are really vibrant this year.  We went a lovely wedding this weekend, and it was a perfect day for the newly wedded couple.

Lawn Fawn is having an inspiration week this week, and we are featuring some fun stamps this week. Today, we get to showcase the super cute Winter Fox.

Here is my card…

winterfox

This little fox is just so sweet.  I put her with the tree from Critters in the Forest and Frosties.

I have to confess that I had a little accident where the sentiment is. (Made the mistake of trying to stamp the sentiment over the embossed snowflakes…doesn’t work).  I had gotten pretty far into the card at that point, so I was trying to figure a way to save it. This is what I came up with, and I have to admit, I am pleased.

If you haven’t yet, head over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see the entire Design Team’s work, and to sign up for a chance to win some fun stuff!

Thanks for stopping by

Haunting Banner

Hi Friends

Well, it’s October which means that you’re going to start seeing some Halloween cards here at the blog.  I will space them out so that you don’t get sick of them (wink).

Today’s card, I actually made for a sketch challenge but missed the submission deadline.  Oh well, still made for a good sketch.

hauntingbanner

I used the sketch from the Lilly Pad Sketch challenge, but like I said, I missed the deadline.  Here is the sketch anyway.

09-11-DMN-791x1024

I used Lawn Fawn’s Happy Haunting  and Bannerific combined with My Mind’s Eye Mischievous paper (had some scraps that worked perfectly to paper piece the banner).\

Thanks for stopping in. Have a blessed day

Lawnscaping challenge

Hi Friends

It’s time for another fun Lawnscaping Challenge.  This challenge is sponsored by the wonderful Simon Says Stamp

SimonSaysStampBlinkie1

They are offering up a $25 gift certificate to the winner.  They carry loads of great product (including Lawn Fawn stamps), so this is a great prize that I wish I could win.

The challenge this time is to add dimension to your card. Personally, I love dimension on cards, so this was right up my alley.  I think a little dimension adds so much to a card.

Here’s what I came up with:

dolphinbday2

This card uses so much dimension. I punched a big circle in the front panel of the card. Then I stamped the Hero Arts clouds on a piece of Neenah white cardstock, next I punched out waves and adhered them with pop dots to create layers of waves I popped up the orange panel with the window in it over the clouds and waves.  Next I colored the dolphin, hat, banner, seaweed, and shell. I cut them out and attached to the card.

I hope you like it. And I hope you will play along with us in this fun challenge. Be sure to check out the Lawnscaping blog to see the other design team members’ creations.

Have a great Monday

Hugs and Blessings
