On the Mend

Hi Friends,

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. I’m excited that we are ready for Lawn Fawn’s June inspiration week. We’re kicking it off with the “On the Mend” set. This set has all the images you’d need for a get well card. The images are fun and whimsical and certain to cheer up anyone who’s “on the mend.”

Here’s the card that I made for the reveal:

Isn’t that turtle just so dang cute? I threw in the clouds from “Bon Voyage” and the butterfly from “Critters in the Burbs” to finish out the scene.

The paper is American Crafts and the white that I stamped and colored the images on is “Neenah.” I used some twine from the “Twinery,” and a button from PTI.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other designers’ cards.

Another Papertrix preview

Hi Friends

How are you doing? Is it hot in your area of the country? Geez, in Indiana, we skipped spring and went from winter to the dog days of summer. It’s been 90+ degrees. That’s crazy!  I hoping things will cool off to more pleasant temps soon.

I thought I’d share another card that we’ll be making on Saturday at Papertrix in Nashville, Indiana.

This card features a Lawn Fawn Classic, Sew Lovely. I just love this set.  I figured it would be perfect for people to make.

Just as a reminder, there will be two classes on Saturday June 11. One will begin at noon and go until 2:00, and the second will start at 3:00 and go until 5:00. The cost is $20 per class, but there is a discount if you sign up for both! There will be a door prize for each class, and we’ll just have lots of fun. If you live nearby, I’d love for you to join us.

Thanks for stopping in!

Lawnscaping challenge

Hey Friends
I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. I always sit amazed at how quickly they go by.
It’s time again for another Lawnscaping challenge, and this one is one I think many will love. We’re featuring Clean and Simple designs! Lawnscaping_Ch_11_400

Clean and Simple designs are so popular now, so I am so excited to see what you all come up with. I know we’re going to be blown away. Each challenge, it’s so fun to see all the original ideas!

We are grateful to have Simon Says Stamp sponsoring us. At stake is a $25 gift card to their store!

Here is what I came up with for the challenge, a set of quick baby cards. I think these would be great to mass produce for announcements, thank you’s, invites, etc. They were really quick to make which makes them ideal for mass producing.

I used Lawn Fawn’s “Plus One” set which has so many cute images for baby cards. I love coloring, so it was hard for me just to stamp them, but the idea was to do something quick.
Be sure to check out the other design team members’, including our fabulous guest designer, Vera, cards at the Lawnscaping blog. We are so excited to see what you create.

Back to work

Hi All

Well, after a long weekend (here in the U.S.), it’s off to work.  I’m grateful to say that this will be a short week in the office as I am going to a conference later in the week. It’s just a day trip. The conference is outside of Chicago, so I am going to spend the night with my dear friend and take Friday off.

Anyway, for today’s card. I thought I’d share one I made using a Paper Smooches set, “Hang Ups.”  I love sets that can build on each other, so this one caught my eye right off. I have gotten very discerning about the stamps I purchase because I love my Lawn Fawn stamps so much that I use them most of the time.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, here is my card:

I made this card awhile back using one of Tiff’s previous sketches but didn’t get it posted in time.  That’s okay, it provided great inspiration.  She posts some amazing sketches on Sundays, I encourage you to check them out if you don’t already.

Here’s what the sketch that the card is based on.

(She’s got a new one posted, so I’d encourage you to check it out).

Thanks for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn classes

Hi Friends,

I'm super excited to tell you that Lawn Fawn stamps have arrived at Papertrix in Nashville, Indiana (my favorite stamp store despite it being an hour from home).

Here’s the shop (isn’t it so cute?!)

 papertrix

Over the course of time, I’ve gotten to know the owners. Long story short, now that they are carrying Lawn Fawn, they asked me to teach a couple of classes.  EEEEK! I’m so thrilled. I’ve not gotten to teach since I was a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  I’m going to be teaching two DIFFERENT classes on Saturday June 11th. Participants will make 4 cards using at least 4 different Lawn Fawn sets.  AND, there will be a drawing for a prize in each class (read free Lawn Fawn sets!).

Check out the Papertrix store site for more info on the class. The classes cost $20 each, but if you sign up for both, you get a discount.  And there are prizes involved.

Just for fun, I thought I’d share a couple of cards that we’ll be making.  I’m going to show you two today (one from each class).  Since the class is shortly before Father’s day, we’ll be making some cards for dad.  That’s what I’m going to preview for you today…

Class Two

Class one will start at noon and go until 2:00, and Class two will start at 3:00 and go until 5:00. If you’re nearby, I’d love for you to join the class.  We’ll have loads of fun.

Thanks for stopping in today. I’ll show you some more previews in the coming days

Lawn Fawn with Helmar Adhesives

Hi Friends

Happy Memorial Day to my fellow U.S. friends. I hope that you all enjoy this day as we honor those who have served our country and paid the ultimate sacrifice. For those of you in the military or with family in the military, thank you for your service.

Today’s post is a fun one. Lawn Fawn is partnering with Helmar adhesives to show how the products can work together. They sent us a bunch of fun products to play with (double-sided tape, Zap dots in multiple colors and dimension (1/4 and 1/2 inches), and multiple glues.) This was a fun assignment! Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0215

I used My Mind’s Eye Fine and Dandy paper. I  paper-pieced the clouds and plane. I used Lawn Fawn’s Bon Voyage set and Sophie’s sentiments. The dashes across the top and bottom are from the Bon Voyage set.  (Love these!) The ric rac is from American Crafts and the twine is from the Twinery.

Here’s a close up of the images so that you can get an idea of the dimension.

DSC_0210-3

(I used the 1/2 inch Zap Dot with the airplane and 1/4 inch Zap Dot on the cloud on the right side.  I used the quick dry adhesive to adhere the paper to the card base.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to stop by the Lawn Fawn blog for more information and other samples!

Thanks for stopping in friends!

World Go Round

Hi Friends

I hope you are doing well. I thought I’d share another card I made using the latest Lawn Fawn release.  I used the Lawn Fawn “Admit One” set.  This card shows that you do not have to color the images from it.  They are cute enough to stand on their own.

admitone

I did pare it with the cute Imaginisce paper again. They just go too well together not to put them together.

I’m a huge fan of the paper roses these days.  So I added them to the bow (which I do a lot these days).

Thanks for stopping in.  Have a blessed day
