Speedy Recovery

Hi Friends,

How is your week been? The heat wave continues here in Indiana, and we could really use some rain.

I’ve not felt too crafty lately, but fortunately, I have some cards that I can share. This one is a get well card that I made for a friend’s daughter who had her tonsils’ removed. I tried to do messy stitching, and it just looks like I don’t know how to sew (which is true). I think that she probably liked the card nonetheless.

I used Lawn Fawn’s “On the Mend” set. That is the perfect set of stamps for cheering someone up who is sick or who’s had surgery. It’s fun and whimsical.

I’m really looking forward to the weekend (as is the case every week). I’m excited about seeing the “Cowboys and Aliens” movie. When my hubby told me about it, I thought that it sounded ridiculous. However, after seeing some previews and knowing the cast (Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde), I am really wanting to see it. Also, early reviews have been encouraging.

I’m also really hoping to spend some time in the craft room. I just need to reconnect with my crafty supplies and get in the groove.

CHA recovery

Hi Friends,

Sorry for the length between posts. Last week’s trip to CHA while fabulous was also draining. The heat has been tough, and couple that with long days (into the wee hours of the next morning) and walking the floors, makes Nette a tired girl.

I thought I’d share a fun Lawn Fawn card that I made for a friend celebrating a new job.

I thought it would be a fun whimsical card to celebrate a new job.  I love the My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist “Fly a kite” 6x6 paper pack.  LOVE. IT.  I say that a lot with My Mind’s Eye paper, I know.  I just thought the clouds from Bon Voyage and the kitty from Critters in the burbs went so well with the kite paper.  I customized the sentiment using Harold’s ABC’s.  (All stamps by Lawn Fawn).  I finally got my hands on the Fiskars grass punch which makes me so happy.  I just love this.  I finished it off with some Twine by Jillibean Soup.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs and blessings.

Leaving for CHA

Hi Friends,

I’m leaving today for the Summer CHA outside of Chicago.  I cannot wait to see the soon to be released product lines.  I’m sure I’ll come back in the Christmas spirit. (hehehee). Most of all, I am SO excited to see some sweet friends at the conference.

I plan to take lots of piccies to share here on the blog.

For today, I thought I’d share a little scene from the farm.  Or a scene from Lawn Fawn’s Critters on the Farm (with Bon Voyage clouds, and Partly Cloudy sun)

DSC_0205-1

I added some googlie eyes.  I just wanted a little silliness to the card for fun.  I colored the images with Copics.  This scene reminds me of the ongoing Lawnscaping challenge, to create a scene. Who doesn’t like creating scenes?? And Lawn Fawn stamps make it so easy (of course for the challenge, you don’t have use Lawn Fawn stamps to play in the challenge.)  A Simon Says stamp gift certificate is at stake, so I hope you join in!

Thanks for visiting. Have a blessed day

Lynnette

Tuesday

Hi there!

How are you friends? Who’s going to CHA?  I’m leaving on Wednesday to attend, and I’m really excited to see some dear sweet friends (and the previews of new products to be released).

Today, I thought I’d share a set I made using Lawn Fawn’s Clear to see set.

DSC_0234

You can see these are super simple cards. I embossed the glasses to add a little punch to the card.  I rounded the corners to finish them off before tying some twine around the top.  Easy peasy.

Thanks for dropping in today folks.

Lawnscaping Challenge

Hi Friends

It’s time for another Lawnscaping challenge. This is a super fun one that is perfectly suited for Lawn Fawn stamps.  The challenge is to build a scene.

Here’s what I came up with:

I used Lawn Fawn’s Critters in the Burbs, Bon Voyage, Quinn’s ABCs, and Harold’s ABCs.  (Yes, this looks familiar to the Inspiration week, but I liked the sentiment and cat and dog friends so much that I went with it).

Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring our challenge, the winner will receive a $25 gift credit to spend on whatever you want. (Yes, they do sell Lawn Fawn Stamps!)

Be sure to get over to the Lawnscaping blog to check out the design team’s samples.  They are fabulous!

Blissful Birthday

Hi Friends

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you’re having a great week. I’ve not felt too great, but I’m hopefully turning the corner.

I wanted to share a card I made for my Mother-in-law’s birthday. I combined Lawn Fawn’s Blissful Bontanicals, Judy’s Blooms and the sentiment from Bake Me a Cake in this card.

mbday

I have a funny albeit embarrassing story to share about this card. On the day I mailed this card (packaged with her birthday presents), I also mailed a package to a friend who’s been enduring a difficult time. Well, I didn’t label the packages before heading to the post office, and, well, my mother-in-law got the “Thinking of You” package and friend got the “Happy Birthday” package. SO. HUMILIATING.

Boy, did I feel (and still do, I might add) like a DORK. Anyway, both parties were very good natured about it, and even helped in setting things right.

Lesson learned, I will always address the packages before going to the post office.

Have a blessed day friends

Quinn’s ABC’s

Hi All,

Boy, it is SO HOT here in Indianapolis. It’s supposed to be this way most, if not all, of this week. Ugh, the heat index on Monday was about 110, Not even kidding.

Perfect weather to spend in the crafty room. Today, the Lawn Fawn Design team is featuring Quinn’s ABCs. This is another great alphabet set, but the alphabet is larger scale and would be awesome for scrapbooking. Here’s the card that I made:

I embossed the alphabet to add some interest to the sentiment. I also used Harold’s ABCs to spell out “forever.” I also used Critters in the Burbs and Bon Voyage to complete the scene.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog if you haven’t already to see the projects the design team put together. And I’m sure there will be another chance to win some goodies.

Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and blessings

Hi Friends

Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  I don’t know about you, but mine went by way too fast.  We do have a fun Lawn Fawn inspiration week to look forward to. These stamps are already being sold.  We are hoping to give you some more fun ideas for using these stamps.  As usual, there are some great prizes for grabs at the Lawn Fawn blog.

Today, we’re showcasing “Clear to See”.  Here’s my card:

Thinking of You

Hi Friends

This is going to be a quick post, so please forgive me. I’m exhausted. I came home from work and spent time in the heat and humidity finishing some yard work. I planted some more perennials (that were on sale since they were done blooming), and spread the final bit of mulch (which was also on sale). Anyway, I am really tired.

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using stamps from Inspired stamps. This company focuses on Biblical stamps. She has a lot a bible verses, and cute images. I am always looking for Christian stamps, so I was happy to find this company. I used this cute little praying girl to make a thinking of you card. I don’t have a lot of experience coloring people images, so this was a start for me. (I love coloring with my Copics, but generally stay away from people images). This little girl was so sweet, I had to give it a try.

If you’re looking for scriptural stamps, I would recommend giving Inspired stamps a look.

Lawnscaping Challenge #13

Hi Friends

Happy 4th of July (for my American friends!) I hope you have fun plans for this Monday off. Today, begins a new Lawnscaping challenge for you, and I think you’re going to like it.

Lawnscaping_Ch_13_400

How fun is it to receive a handmade card and then find the inside is also decorated??! I admit, I rarely do this, but I need to more often. It really finishes off the project.

We have a fabulous sponsor for this challenge, Karen Burniston, who designs pop up dies for Sizzix. She’s a talented designer who’s donating a pop up Sizzix die that she’s designed. The design team received samples cut out from the die to use for this challenge. Here’s what I came up with:

Outside of card:

sizzixchallengecard1

Inside of card:

sizzixinside

I used the Lawn Fawn sets: Bake Me a Cake, Teeny Tiny Backdrops, Admit One, and Sophie’s Sentiments. I’ve said it before, but I love how easy it is to combine Lawn Fawn sets together.

I’ll admit that I doubt I’ll go to this much effort for every card, but I am going to try and make an effort to give the inside of my cards some love.

Be sure to go to the Lawnscaping blog to see the other designers’ cards, they are seriously WOW!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day

Forever Friends

Hi Friends,

Happy Friday!  For those of us in the U.S., we’re looking forward to a long weekend here.  What plans do you have to celebrate Independence day?  We have more plans to work in the yard, and I am getting together with a friend to do some papercrafting.  I am looking forward to that SO much.

Here’s a little card I made awhile back.

DSC_0228

I used Lawn Fawn’s “Critters in the Burbs,” and “Hello Friend”.  I also used some Nikki Sivils paper to create the background and paper piece the tree.

Thanks for stopping in today. I hope you have a great weekend (long or short). Remember a new Lawnscaping challenge starts on Monday, you won’t want to miss it!

Hugs and blessings
