Lawn Fawn and Cardmaker Blog Hop

Hi Friends

Today, Lawn Fawn and CardMaker are joining together for a fun blog hop with prizes.

Here’s the project I made:

DSC_0198

I just love the new Home Sweet Home set from Lawn Fawn. I think I may have mentioned that before. This card is super easy, just stamp and color.  You could easily kick it up a notch by adding some patterned paper or a border around the panel. For this one, I just wanted to keep it simple.

Here’s the list of blogs for you to continue on the hop:

Taylored Expressions Cuppie fun

Hi Friends,

Happy Friday!!  I don’t know about you, but I am so glad the weekend is here. I’ve had a heck of a week and glad to see it come to a close.  AND I am going to visit a friend and help her celebrate her 40th birthday. It should be super fun, she’s having a roller-skating, 80s themed party.  SO, look out, we’ll be bringing out the neon, lace, and BIG HAIR!

Anyway, before I take off for the weekend, I wanted to share a couple of Taylored Expressions Cuppie cards.

Both of these cards use the Taylored Expressions, Cuppie set, Sweet Indulgence. It’s so cute with so many fun images and coordinating sentiments.  I put it with the gorgeous papers from Pebbles, Seen and Noted.

Hope you enjoy, and have a blessed weekend!

Lawn Fawn Sharp Backdrops

Hi Friends

I hope your week is going well and that you are having fun with the Lawn Fawn inspiration week. I know I love seeing what the rest of the design team creates.  I get so many great ideas.

Today, we are featuring projects where Sharp Backdrops is the star.  I came up with a couple of projects to share…

You can see that I coupled the projects with sentiments from the new “So Much to Say” set which is so versatile. Of course, I had to use some of that yummy new twine (Lemon Single Cord, and Pink Lemonade Single Cord).

These were both pretty quick cards to make and could be easily mass produced. The hardest part was cutting out the hats, but I enjoy cutting.

Thanks for stopping by today, please visit the Lawn Fawn blog to see the rest of the design team projects and for a chance to win some fun prizes.

Taylored Expressions March Studio Challenge

011

TEStudiochallengebadge
It's time for the Baker's Dozen Studio Challenge.  This is a monthly opportunity for the Taylored Expressions team to share what makes our stamping studios hum.  Each month we  have a fun, crafty question so we can share our favorites, some tips and tricks, stamping advice and more.
The question for March is:
You oughta be in pictures!!
We all love to share our completed projects with others on our blogs and in on-line galleries.  So, when the stamping ends, the photography begins.  This is a fun step for some and a frustrating one for others.  How is it for you?
Tell us how you get those beautiful project photos.
Let me preface this post, I feel completely unqualified to do this post. I need some photography lessons myself.  But I am happy to share with you what I do. Here is what my set up looks like with the project inside…
013
I recently got a photobox that I now use. It was a Christmas present from my husband, and I believe he purchased it from Amazon since he only shops online. Prior to this, I had made a photobox out of the thick posterboard which can be purchased at Michaels.
The photobox I have came with the two site lamps which really are of no use. I have them sitting there but do not use them. They create “hot spots” within the photobox and don’t light up my cards at all.  That is why I have the lamp in the front to try and get more light in there. It’s all about light isn’t it?
I have some white paper taped up to add as a back drop for the Taylored Expressions projects. Because they fall down, I tape up the vertical piece so that it isn’t crashing in on my project while I photograph it.
Most of the time, I photograph my projects with a Nikon D40 which is now a retired camera from Nikon, but it’s a great versatile camera.  Of course, today, I had problems with it (my battery is dead and the charger is MIA).  I had to break out the iPhone 5 camera, which thankfully is a good camera.
I edit my photos in Photoshop elements, and I use only the most basic editing features it offers. I have yet to figure out all the nuances of PSE.  I do have a book that my husband bought me called, “How to Cheat in Photoshop Elements,” and I need to spend some time with it. (Wink)
So back to the project, here’s what I created:
014I broke out the Crate Paper, Acorn Avenue and die cut it with the Silhouette Stems 2, and 3. I covered the base and created a panel for the card with paper from the Crate Paper, Acorn Avenue Then I stamped the “You’re in my Thoughts sentiment from Posh Posies
I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to reading the tips from the rest of the Taylored Expressions Design team.  Be sure to visit their blogs.  Here are the links to help you get started:

Lawnscaping Challenge #54

Hi Friends

Happy Monday, I hope you had a great weekend.  Ours was nice and relaxing but still not long enough.  That always seems to be my sentiments on Monday… Anyway, enough about that.  Today is the start of a new Lawnscaping challenge. This challenge features stitching (faux or real).

Because I am scared of my sewing machine, I opted for the faux route.  Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0071

I used the following Lawn Fawn goodies:  Happy Easter, Summertime Charm, Summertime Lawn Cuts, Daphne’s closet petit paper, and lime single cord

I also added a stamped and die cut jar out of velum over the top of the jar to make it look more like a filled jar.

Lawn Fawn is sponsoring the challenge, so the winner will receive a stamp set of their choice!

Thanks for stopping by, please go to the Lawnscaping blog to see the rest of the design team projects.  I hope you decide to play along.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration week-Daphne’s Closet

Hi Friends
It’s going to be a busy week here at the blog.  Lawn Fawn has it’s  March inspiration week.  Today we are featuring projects using the new paper line, Daphne’s closet.
I just love these papers.  The colors and patterns are so pretty.
Here is what I have come up with:
DSC_0073
I just adore paper-piecing.  These papers are great for it.  I pulled out the Summertime Charm stamp set again, and paper pieced with different papers from the Daphne’s Closet petit paper pack

Here's another project using these fabulous papers....

I used some of the stamps from Home Sweet Home, and Plus One .  These papers are perfect for paper piecing

Be sure to head over the Lawn Fawn blog to see all the design team projects.
Thanks for stopping by. Hugs and blessings

Taylored Expressions Birthday ensemble

Hi Friends

I’m back from lots of business travel.  I’m happy to be home for a while.  It’s taken a bit to get crafting again. You know how you lose the mojo if you get away for a bit.

Well, I have a friend who had a birthday, so I needed a little gift ensemble to make the package special. Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0055

I used a tin I purchased from Michaels as the box, and I covered it with Pebbles Seen and Noted patterned paper and embellished with die cuts using Elegant Butterfly Overlay, and Banner Stacklets.  I made the mini card using some paper from patterned paper. Sentiments on the tin and the card both come from the super cute You Take the Cake stamp set.

Incidentally, her present is a matching necklace and bracelet from Lia Sophia. Hoping she loves the whole package.

Have a great weekend!

Hugs and blessings
