Everything but the Kitchen Sink

Hi Folks

Another post today! Wow, this is a record and a busy time. I’m horribly late in posting this.

Today, it’s time for another Everything but the Kitchen Sink Challenge. Also, it’s the last challenge for this little challenge blog.  We’re all a little melancholy about it, but all of our schedules have just gotten so crazy that we’re having trouble keeping up. So, thank you for playing along all this time and for sharing your fabby creations.

Ann is hosting this last challenge and has a fabulous prize package from Limelight Papercrafts. This challenge is all about textures.  Check out the inspiration photo:

challenge28_challenge

Doesn’t that make you just want to snuggle under that blankie on that sofa and watch a movie. It just looks so soft and warm to me.  (Insert happy sigh here)

So anyway, here’s what I came up withchallenge28nette

I thought of this soft ribbon in the new Lawn Fawn Dapper package immediately when I saw the inspiration.

I hope you like it and that you will play along to help us go out in style.

Hugs and blessings!

Lawn Fawn Fly Free

Hi Friends,

I have another fun set of Lawn Fawn stamps to preview today. It’s a mini set called “Fly Free.” This is such a sweet little set that can be used in a variety of ways.

DSC_0118

You can see that I paired the birds and sentiment from Fly Free with two earlier Lawn Fawn sets, Partly Cloudy (Clouds) and Critters in the Burbs (the grass). I also broke out some more of the yummy ribbon that Lawn Fawn will begin selling. This is from the Chipper set of ribbon, and it’s SO pretty. (I love ribbon).

For the last couple of posts, I’ve been teasing a December give away. I’m going to be giving away a prize package with all sorts of goodies, chipboard, ribbon, stamps. I’ll photograph the prize package and post it later in the week once the Lawn Fawn previews are done. Just know that there are some fun goodies in it. All you need to do to be entered to win is comment between this past Sunday and December 8th (when we’ll pick a random winner).

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day

Lawn Fawn My Silly Valentine

Hi Friends,

Happy Monday!  For those of us in the U.S., how come the long weekends go by so quickly? Oh my goodness, I cannot believe that the weekend is over already.  I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, and for my friends from other countries, I hope you had a great weekend too!

Now, I am sure you are here to see a sample (or two—he he) from the upcoming Lawn Fawn release, so without further delay, I’d like to share some samples from “My Silly Valentine.”

sillyvalentinegroupsot

You can see that I made a set of cards. This set is packed full of cute images with coordinating sentiments. It made me think of the cute little cards we gave out as little kids.  That was the thought that led to the set of cards. Here are some close up images:

I’m sharing a card I made with the teal ribbon from “Dapper".

As you can see, I used multiple Lawn Fawn sets in this card, Critters in the Snow, Jessie’s ABCs and Frosties. Once again, I have to say that I love how well the Lawn Fawn stamps coordinate together.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn blog and the other design team members’ blogs to see how they used the ribbons.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Friends,

I wanted to share with you one of the Thanksgiving cards that I sent.

DSC_0047

I just love the cornucopia image from the Lawn Fawn Harvest Season set.  Lots of fun coloring with this image.

As I have been preparing for the holiday, the following bible verse has come to mind.

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. (James 1:17, NASB)”

This seems like an appropriate verse for Thanksgiving. I have so many things to be thankful for, and I need to give thanks to the giver of all things… the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As I reflect on how blessed I am, I am reminded that the biggest gift I have is the personal relationship I have with Jesus Christ and the assurance of spending eternity with Him.

On today, while we celebrate with our family and friends, I encourage us all to give thanks to our Heavenly Father.

Have a very blessed Thanksgiving my friends.

NFL Color Challenge

imagesCAN0YJKU

Hi Gang,

My beloved Colts lost yesterday, but I still love my team. That’s why when Brandi contacted me about doing a blog hop using our favorite NFL team’s colors, I said “sign me up!” What a fun idea for a challenge. Just because we are girls, and we craft, doesn’t mean that we can’t like football, right?!

When I was deciding what to make, I thought, Christmas tags… While this may not be too surprising considering that I've been making a bunch of tags recently, I still need tags. All the tags I’ve made recently have been for other people, so we need some for Christmas gifts.

Here’s what I came up with:

nflcolors2

nflscolors4

nflcolors3

I hope you like. Next up on the hop, is Kelly, Mrs. Lawn Fawn. Speaking of Lawn Fawn, there’s a bunch of Lawn Fawn fun in these tags. I used Lawn Fawn’s Frosties, Cozy Christmas and Teeny Tiny Backdrops. If you’d like to start at the beginning, go back to Brandi’s blog.

Thanks for stopping by! If you are inspired to make something using your team’s colors, please let me know, I’d love to check it outSmile

Photo Christmas Cards

Hi Friends,

Happy Weekend!  I hope your weekend is off to a great start. Somehow I woke up at 3:45 and couldn’t go back to sleep. I decided to get up and do some crafting.  However, I’m not posting that today. I thought I’d share the last the last of the card sets that I made for Demaree.  For the last few years, Demaree has asked me to make a photo card base for her Christmas cards.  Today, I’m sharing the cards that I made for her this year. Please note, I just stuck a photo on there to give an idea of what the card will look like. Demaree will get a much better photo of Mia and cut to fit the mat, I’m sure.

dem2010christmascard

So for these cards, I sprayed the red paper with a coat of the new Ranger Perfect Pearl Mist (Perfect Pearl).  I wanted to give a little shimmer to the card because. (I did this because when I embossed the snowflakes in silver there was stray embossing powder and a bit of a haze, so I thought that the mist would mask that… I love embossing, but it also frustrates me. Sorry, I digress). I used Lawn Fawn’s Frosties to create the snowflakes, and Cozy Christmas for the sentiment.  Hope you like!

Thanks for stopping by.

Have a blessed weekend

Shower Thank Yous

Hi and Happy Friday!

Hello weekend, glad to see you! Any of you have big plans for the weekend? Starting your travel plans? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy and are safe.

Today, is the second installment of shower cards that I made for Demaree. Today, I’m sharing the “Thank You” cards. I wanted them to coordinate with the invites but not look exactly alike, so here’s what I came up with:

cherisethankyou

You can see I kept the colors and the umbrellas. I wanted them to be flat so that they’d not cost her more to mail. Anyway, I hope she likes them.

Have a blessed weekend

Shower cards

Hi Friends,

Wow, this week has gone fast! Can you believe next week is Thanksgiving?? Oh my goodness.

Lately, I’ve had to do several projects requiring mass production.  Today, I’m sharing some baby shower invitations that I made for Demaree’s sister’s shower.

cheriseshower

The shower is in January which is why we went with the snowflakes.  She’s expecting a little boy, and the colors of the shower are blue, brown, white and silver.  I made 39 of these (was going to be 40, but I messed one up---one reason why I always make extra of what people ask for). I also made 40 thank you cards that I will post on another day.

Hope you like!

October CARDS publications

Hi Friends,

Happy Monday. I had such a fun weekend with Demaree. It went by SO fast as all the weekends do, but this one was extra fast. We went shopping, out to a nice dinner on Friday. Then Saturday, we made fun appetizers, watched movies and crafted all day... Really couldn't have been a better weekend.

Since Demaree was here, I don't have new stuff to post (yet). I thought I’d share the cards that I had published in CARDS magazine in October.

This first one was for a card with a coordinating envelope. (just love that Lawn Fawn stamps were published)

And this one was for Halloween tags/cards.

Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn Gift tags

Hi Friends,

I hope your week is going well, I’m grateful to say that I have a short week this week. Tomorrow is my last work day. My friend, Demaree, is coming to visit and arrives on Friday. I’m really excited and looking forward to seeing her and spending time together.

Today, I’d like to share some gift tags I made for a friend whose daughter is doing something special for hospitalized children. She’s even gotten “not-for-profit” status. Her project is called “Angels for Epilepsy.” Here’s a link to her website: angels4epilepsy.org

Here are just 8 gift tags that I made:

DSC_0041

DSC_0045DSC_0046DSC_0052

Truly, the Critters in the Snow set and Winter Bunny by Lawn Fawn are SO flipping cute. They make such cute gift tags! These gift tags were pretty quickly put together because I had to make so many. I got to spend some time coloring in front of the tv and then assembled in stages. They were a lot of fun to make. I hope they bless the kiddos that they go to.

Last week, I had a couple of questions posted that I’d like to respond to. One was in regards to the blue background and the reflection. The blue is actually two sheets of thick transparency that are covered in this blue film for protection. They are naturally reflective, but I also add a transparency sheet that reflects the images when photographing. I have so much to learn about taking photos but I do like the blue (as evidenced by the frequency of my use of it) because it really pops the color.

The other question was in regards to a card I posted here and the patterned paper that I used. I regret to say that I cannot say with 100% certainty who made the paper. I think it was Bo Bunny, but I am not certain. If I can find confirmation of the maker, I’ll update.

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Big hugs

Birthday Fishes

Happy Friday!

I hope you’ve all had a great week!  I’m ready for the weekend (but when am I not?)  This week has had some frustrations, so the weekend is a welcome break.  I hope to do some crafting amidst the housecleaning that must be done.

Today’s card is one I made awhile ago and is fun and bright.

 DSC_0019

In retrospect, my blue background probably wasn’t the best backdrop to photograph this against, but oh well.  I used Lawn Fawn’s Critters of the Sea. The sentiment is from a Hero Art’s set (I think called Birthday Fishes) but not sure and don’t have it handy at the moment.

I gotta run, it’s time to get ready for work.  If you have questions about supplies, just email me or ask in the comments.

Remember today is the last day to get your comments in for a chance to win one of the new Lawn Fawn releases!

Hugs and Blessings

Off the Wall Craftiness

Hi Friends

It’s time for our weekly Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge, and, as usual, Kim has a great color combo. Unfortunately, I do not have the photos because I accidentally deleted from my email. The colors are Orange, lime green and chocolate brown. (Go to her blog to see the inspirational photo, so pretty!)

Here’s what I came up with:

DSC_0048

The stamps I used are by Denami, who is sponsoring this week’s challenge!! Denami stamps are so adorable, I was thrilled that we got to do a challenge with them.

For my card, I clear embossed the images to create the background. I stamped the pumpkins on a strip of Neenah cardstock, colored with my Copics. Then I put a strip of scalloped green paper behind my pumpkin strip, tied some twine (from the twinery---fabulous) around the strip. I mounted my pumpkin strip with foam tape to give it some pop! I distressed the edges of my card base and the pumpkin strip just to add some depth to the card.

This is my last challenge on the Off the Wall Craftiness Design team, so I want to express my gratitude to Kim for including me on her team. It’s been so much fun and a privilege to get to know her better and be part of her fun color challenges. I will definitely be playing along in the future!

Have a blessed day

Lawn Fawn Day 3… Jessie’s ABC’s

Hi Friends,

I’m here again with another preview from the upcoming Lawn Fawn release. As you might have guessed from the title, it’s another alphabet set. I absolutely love the Harold’s ABCs and Jessie’s ABCs is soon to be favorite too. The set lines up so nicely, just align the bottom (or the top) of the photopolymer rectangles to get perfect alignment when stamping. It makes it so easy to create your own sentiments!

Which is exactly what I did in my sample today

DSC_0041-3

Obviously, I’m continuing in the Christmas theme of this release. I also brought in the Teeny Tiny Backdrops for the background of this card. The swirls are actually pearls that I colored with my Copics so that they were more blended into the card.

Be sure to visit the other designers’ blogs to see their amazing creations.

Lawn Fawn November release Day 2

Hi Friends….

Are you ready for another sneak peak at the upcoming Lawn Fawn release?? I sure hope so. This set is so much fun, it’s called Hats Off to You, and it coordinates so well with the “Critters” series of stamps. There are several hats to choose from, and some sentiments.

For my card, I wanted to pair up the Santa hat with the adorable seal that is in the Critters in the Snow set that will be released.

DSC_0037

Is that seal just so dang cute wearing the Santa hat? I figured the sentiment “Merry & Bright” was fitting considering how bright the paper is that I used to make this card. (Joyride by Collage Press).

Lawn Fawn November Release!

Hi Friends

It’s time for another Lawn Fawn release!  I’m really excited about this month’s release (I know I always say that, but it’s true).  I think you’re going to love the images from this month’s release.

The first set we’re previewing is Critters in the Snow.  This is what I came up with:

so cool

This set is full of cute critters that we associate with winter, 3 sentiments, 3 snowflakes and an igloo for them to reside in .  I used the snowflakes, igloo, a sentiment, and 2 penguins for my card.  I also used the adorable paper from Crate Paper.

I’m going to do my usual giveaway this week. All you need to do is comment during the week (everyday, If you’d like).  The randomly chosen winner will get to select her choice of stamp set from the new release.

Be sure to head over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see the other design team’s cards. Kelly is also doing a giveaway, so there’s another chance at some freebies!

Thanks for stopping by!
