More birthdays

Hi Friends,

Happy Tuesday. I hope your week is going well. Mine is off to a pretty good start although I do feel like I may be catching a cold. It could be allergies, not quite sure yet.

So I've told you that I have a bunch of birthdays coming up. Today's card is another I've made to make sure I have cards for the birthdays that start next week:) Hope you like.

I really love this big flower. It makes card making so fast when using these big accessories. It's great! Plus, it's bright and cheery.

Have a blessed day

Hero Arts Monochromatic Challenge

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great Monday. I took today off, so my day was great :) I love extended weekends. Of course, I had chores to do, so it wasn't all fun and games.

I made a card for last week's Hero Art's challenge. The challenge was to make a monochromatic card. I decided to go with orange. It's not my favorite color which is why I chose it. I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. I hope you like.

I used a couple of Hero Arts stamps in this card. And I added the torn flower. I also used the CPS sketch from last week, but I didn't get it posted in time.

Hugs!

SPCC#7

Hi Friends,

I hope you've enjoyed your weekend. I sure have.

That's why I'm just now uploading my card for the SPCC#7 challenge.

I'm not super excited about this card, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Carlin and I are watching a movie, so I'm going to keep this short. I'd love to hear about your weekend.

Hugs!

Hero Arts Cards/Scrapbooking

Hi Friends,
Last week I participated in the Hero Arts blog challenge to CASE from the Hero Arts main website. Here are what I came up with. I actually made a scrapbook page which I am excited about (still getting started on scrapbooking.) I have lots more wedding photos to scrapbook.
I love the pink and green together. However, the photo really doesn't do it justice. I added a few Hero Arts gemstones for a little fun bling.

Love the white embossing powder look, but I have so much trouble getting it not to scatter.
For the scrapbook page, I have saved paper that I used from the wedding to scrapbook with it. The Groovy Guava has been retired, so I have a stash that I hope will be sufficient to get the wedding scrapbooked.
Have a blessed day!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge

Hi Friends,

How was your Monday? I hope you are all doing well. I have to say that today was quite a rough day. My best friend's sister passed away this morning. She had lung cancer, and it was very agressive. Also, a friend of Carlin's from his former church (before we got married) passed away on Saturday. I'm comforted that both were believers and are now in the presence of Jesus, but I feel for their families.

Onto other things, I managed to get a card made for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. And it's not being submitted under the wire. Woohoo!

I did some clear embossing on this card. I'm into this look at the moment. Does anyone else go through phases as to what you use on your creations? I am so fickle, I think. At any rate, embossing is my technique du jour.

ANYWAY, here is my entry:

I just adore the damask designs embossed. It really dresses up the image. I like these colors together. That's why I love these color challenges, it helps me expand my color horizons.

Thanks for stopping by!

SPCC

Hi Friends,
Oh how quickly the weekends go. I cannot believe it is Sunday evening.
I'm posting my latest entry for the SPCC.

I decided to make another birthday card. (I've mentioned before that I'm short on birthday cards and a lot of upcoming birthdays, so there will continue to be more birthday cards).

Have a fabulous evening!

KWerner Color Challenge

Hi Friends,

Yay the weekend is here!! Oh how I love the weekends. Lately work has been so chaotic. I feel like I'm sprinting as soon as I walk through the door until I leave. At any rate, the weekend is a welcome reprieve even if I have a ton of chores to get done (although I will make time to craft).

I made some time this week to do some papercrafting. It really helps to relax. I have been in a bit of a funk as far as what I've created lately. I've not liked much of what has come out of my craft room. However, I did put something together for KWerner's color challenge .

Here are the colors that we were to use:

I had trouble with this challenge. I was fine with it except for the blue (ha!) I don't even own ballet blue, so I went with a turquoise.

Here's my card:

hmmm, I thought I had more pumpkin in this than there is. OH well :)

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know if you have questions about the card.

Hugs!

Here's a snapshot of what is in her prize package:

Is that so cute or what??? Good luck to all you who enter.

Take care friends!

New color challenge

Hi Friends

I hope you've enjoyed your weekend. I am sure yours has gone by fast as mine always seem to. I cannot believe it's Sunday afternoon already

Today's post is for a new color challenge. I found out about it through a comment on one of posts. Check out the SPCC color challenge. This challenge was to use soft suede, melon mambo and Bermuda Bay. I absolutely love melon mambo and bermuda bay from this year's SU! In Colors.

I realized yesterday that I needed to churn out some birthday cards, so this card serves that purpose. (Not for the upcoming male birthday.... gotta work on that).

Enjoy your weekend. I'm off to go walking to try and stick to my exercise program.

Blessings all!

Wednesday, July 8, 2009

Hi Friends,

I hope your week is going well. I've had a good week so far. I've been trying to walk more and get some exercised in my days. I took off last night but need to get out there tonight. The weather is cooler today, so it's a good day to do it.

I've been noticing that our television's colors are kind of flickering, so it's looking as if we are going to be needing to get a new tv. This is actually not bad news really. The tv is at least 10 years old, and we've really been wanting a flat screen. This may be the excuse we need to make the plunge :)

As for today's card, it's one that I made awhile back (for a Kwerner challenge I think, but not sure). However, now that I've uploaded it to the blog, I see the colors aren't quite right. The brown looks almost black. So just know that it's supposed to be chocolate chip ;) Also, I broke in the new Stampin' Up In Color, Dusty Durango. It's quite pretty, kind of a rustic orange. I am enjoying the new colors. The melon mambo is delish. I'll post something with it soon.

Thanks for stopping by!

Raspberry Suite color Challenge

Hi Friends,

I found some time to play with Dawn's Raspberry Suite challenge. Unfortunately my computer is having some issues, so I'm not able to tweak the photo.

Since I'm uploading this at work, I'm going to sign off for now and get back to working :)

Have a blessed week.
